Heyas guys,
Inspired by some of the other artwork kicking about the critics lounge, I decided to try my hand at some space art.
Process: Take a tutorial or two, source some sexy free textures from the brilliant cgtextures.com. Have a play around, and present a background!
Here's the final background(s):

With coloured flare

With original "flare"
Some earlier variations:

Finally, a stage board:

So, what do you guys think?
What can I change, what's worth adding?
How's the colour?
Lemme Know!

Quick Edit: Added an updated version of the "Final" Image. 8)
the new one looks cool. the flare is way better than the default ones you normally see. usualy i love putting an animorphic streak in my flares due to my use of animorphic camera lenses all the time
It was about time for another background with 13N5F14R3(tm) ;)
Looks very nice, the clustering of the planets bother me a bit as they would crash into each other, but composition-wise it's good, IMO.
Holy crap. That's some damn good artwork.
May I tentitively suggest something more like this..?

Changed contrast, saturation and colours a bit.
Altered lens flare to not be one of those Photoshop jobbies.
???
I've zapped out some of the stars with my contrast edits, so it might be worth compositing this with your earlier work... anyway your call, and i love the planet texture :D
Cap'n Binky
there ya good. now you have a small bit of an animorphic streak going
