Title: Spooky midi ^_^
Post by: Pet Terry on Sat 01/11/2003 17:49:33
Hey there.

I made this one for a game (not my game though) and I think it turned up pretty nice. Teh horror! (http://koti.mbnet.fi/hurjat/tehhorror.mid)

Guess the melody that starts somewhere around 1:45 :P

And of course... comments please!

EDIT: uh, yeah, don't worry about the sudden end, it's meant to be looped :P

Very nicely composed.. I kept having images of twisted clowns and haunted circus rides..

there is a particular part that I luv, when it sounds like wicken tip-toeing.. heh..

excellent.

Hehe, really nice.

It's spooky enough for a Monkey Island-ish game (which the tune also reminds me a lot of, for some reason).

Once again, a fabulous midi from Petteri :)

It makes me think of a merry-go-around and laughing clowns, much like Pure Ghost. I have always found clowns evil, and Merry Go Arounds freak me out.

I love it :)

I know nothing about making music (I'm as musically talented as a fish!)

But I know music I like and I :: LOVE :: midi music!

This is good!  I have to say it also had a carnival sound to it to me as well!  Which is quite good ... creepy and dark-ish!

good job!

It's great - the chord structure reminds me of Danny Elfman's stuff.

If you're using it as a looping background, then maybe the up tempo drums that start about 2/3 of the way through could be a touch too dramatic. On the other hand, if that phrase could be triggered on an a dramatic event in the game it would sound great.

For which game is this midi file made?

Really well made Petteri,

Although I didn't really find it that spooky, the sounds were kinda the right style, but it was a bit too happy and pacey, as others have said Carnival music, Mike Paton would love it.

but yeah, it totally depends on what it's specifically for in the game, it would probably fit well in a comedy/spooky game, when the character is up to something mischievous.

Thanks for your comments :)

It's for Vel's MAGS game, which is halloween based and he said it'll fit great. It was meant to be semi-spooky, semi-serious or something :P

This is an awesome midi. I really love the part that comes in at around 41 seconds, and how it builds up. Excellent work.

I imagine this in a carnival sort af setting. Although no all that spooky, it sounds as though its meant in a commedy sort of horror game.
It does have Monkey Island themes in it i think...
