Sprite and Portrait concept art

Meet...Uh... Well, she doesn't really have a name yet. (Suggestions are welcome)

Anyway, I've started drawing out a horror game, and designed up the main character. I have NEVER, EVER sprited before, so I'm not sure if she came out right. xD But I'm pretty happy with her design. I may add a bit more to her idle animation later, since I've already been working on this since 10 ( and now it's 12:20am >.>), including clenching and unclenching her fists, and looking to the sides at random intervals. Anything that symbolises anxiety...

This is also a portrait of her face + hair + All that other jazz. As you can see, her sprite changed a bit from her old design, but I'm planning to redraw the portrait with her updated features, since I don't like her punkish look. It'll mostly be used when the characters conversing or investigating certain objects/places, to express her current state of emotion 

If you have any idea of how I can improve either of these (such as changing the design and/or colour) feel free to say so. I'm pretty open minded...

In her portrait and in the sprite you should lower the eyes, as they should be around middle of the head (not counting the hair, just the skull). I think it'd make it better.
Also her left (our right) foot (the end of the boot) looks weird, the shading is strange so the view seems weird.
Otherwise, the sprite looks interesting, might be hard to animate fluently but it'll look good if you pull it off.

On th animation side, the neck is cut along with the fur part of the jacket so the cut seems unatural a bit. You might wanna make the fur and jacket separate from the head, as in just bob the head.
What I'm trying to say is keep the upper part off the jacket and the neck together and move just the head instead.

And the names depend on the game and setting and plot so it's hard to guess. I mean if it's an sf she might be called Serena Jettson, but if it's a victorian goth horror she might be called Mary Ana Serepykopf or something, so it really depends.
