Title: Sprite Character Fighting Animation
Post by: Blackthorne on Mon 21/06/2004 02:03:50
Well, here's my guy, going for a low-res Sierra Style - walking holding a sword in kind of a fight mode.Ã,  I drew only five frames so far, and then arranged and repeated them after running the first five in a row.Ã,  He kinda looks like he's cha-cha-cha-ing!Ã,  Any suggestions as I go on?

are you animating it all at once?

as in the arms the head the body the legs the cape the sword?

i'd recommend repeatedly walking like this and then working on the legs first, then the body and then the arms and do the cape last

5 frames for a 1/4 step is sure a lot. The color jumps around a lot too. But I suguest what Eric said, animate it piece by piece. Then work the colors out afterwards.

Good idea Eric.  So when you finish with that, please let me know.  I don't know if I can wait that two hours..... hehe  ;D

Seriously, though - good idea.  I think I'll work on it that way.  I didn't really animate the arms much, just changed the shading as he walks.
