okay lets pretend im not walking like im drunk and on drugs, would it be a cool idea to use myself as the main character of my game? if i could figure out how to make myself look like im acutaly walking of course i was think about like using myself for all the characters in the game and just wearing diferent costumes or like puting on a mustash ro whatever...i think it would be pretty damn funny

It looks like you've set the camera to take one pic, then set it again and having to guess-timate you're previous pose.  It needs to be more fluid.  The best thing would be to record it and pick frames out of a sequence.

Also, you seem to be shifting you're centre of gravity when using different feet.  People general maintain a happy balance.  If you pick up one foot and forgot to put it forward and down, you'd pretty much topple forwards and to the side of the lifted foot.  This anim's balance is drifting like a pendulum, making his/your hips go move like a belly dancer on a busy night.

Also, also..  it looks like your arms are doing the Loco-motion.  Shoulder's usually move a bit more, too.

I don't mean to sound picky.  It's just it looks more like a marionette on a treadmill.  Neat idea, tho.  Good luck, et al..

lol i relaize that thats an extreamly ugly walk cycle i was just throwing the idea out to see what ppl would think ....im gonna try and do a better walk cycle so what ur saying is record myself walking then take frams from it hmmm well im using a digital camera and it has a 5 second timer on it that i was using it has a record function  that lets you record 30 seconds of video but the quaility isnt as good as the pictures  it takes

I know this could be a longshot, but here goes..
Do you have any friends?
If so, they might be will to take a few photos of you walking.
If all else fails, try the folks..

Can't be too difficult, tho. I got my mum to walk round in a circle for twenty minutes while I tried to sketch a walk cycle.

Hollister Man

You might try getting on a treadmill, although you might have to walk backwards, and record your walking for a minute or two.  That way you're in approximately the same place all the time.  I think it would be an awesome premise.  In fact, KQ6 claimed to have been animated with the help of motion captured video.  cool eh?

Duzz Quest used real photos for backgrounds and characters. If you're going to make silly game, silly walking animation will work just fine, but if it's going to be serious game, then you should try to make it realistic looking. As Hollister Man said, a treadmill would be useful :)
