Title: Stuck on neon sign. C&C

i've been fiddling around with this neon sign:

and can't get it to look right...can't think of any other way to modify it.

in my game i have a limited palette to that of the swatches in photoshop and it was working quite well till i got to this sign... :(

is there a way to simplify this look? i really didn't want to whip out photoshop

I'm not sure what wou need - Maybe if you show the Background it might give some better idea. All I can think of is - if it is a neon sign - it would be lighter the closer it gets to the middle of the letters not the other way around. Try - white in the middle - then a line of pink around that then a slightly darker coulour . . and so on.

It should be brighter in the middle, or if you think it looks too bright animate one of the lettters to flicker to make it more interesting.
