Second background, C&C pls :B

Not bad, but you need to make the structure of the cliff (?) more definable. It looks like it just floats in the water. Secondly, you should remove the black outline in the horizon.

The main problem is the reflection. Every sea has ripples, so the reflection should look like in this pic.

But even if the reflecting surface was completely flat, the reflection would be a circle, too, not an ellipse.

Both these methods are wrong:

When drawing a reflection, you have to imagine everything being mirrored 3D-wise. Know these rooms, where one wall is a huge mirror? They look as if they were twice as big, because all lines share the same vanishing point.

This is the correct way:

So pretending the sea was flat, it should look something like this:

(Please don't feel like I'm taking your pic completely apart, mistakes with reflections do happen easily, so I thought this was a good opportunity to show how it's done.
Apart from this, your pic is really beautiful, btw.)

Sunsets are EXTREMELY difficult to draw (it's easier to avoid them) - they contain 2 very difficult elements:

- water (with ripples - must reflect the Sun)
- the Sun on the screen - you can't actually draw this at all unless the Sun is at least partially veiled in clouds - otherwise it's too bright.

Your Sun is too large, it should be rather small. It could be this large only with a very long telephoto lens, in a very special camera setup (say looking at a ship or island on the horizon).

Also the sun's outline should be clearly visible.

The most famous painting of sunrise: Monet's Impression - Soleil levant

I really like how you did the sun, it's very pretty ^_^

I agree with the above comment to get rid of the blackline at the horizon.Ã,  The cliff looks a bit pasted on because of it's smoothness; since you have rendered the grass with so much texture, some of that grass should overlap over the water in a "texture-y" way (I hope I'm making sense).Ã,  I would also suggest tinting the water colour so that it matches the sky a little more (kind of like how KrisMUC did).Ã,  Here are some google images to demonstrate what I mean.

It's a very nice background so far.Ã,  Keep at it! ^_^
