Well, I've been posting some backgrounds for my new game already, but yesterday I finally did a character - And one that I'm pretty satisfied with as well! (I actually used Eric's tutorial for some references on proportions and so forth - Thanks a lot, man!)

This is the main character, a 20 year old guy named Kevin Hodson, just recently graduated from art school with some pretty good grades. Having just moved out from his parents and in to the tiny mountain community of Mount Calmit, he feels a bit insecure, and has a hard time finding inspriation for his drawings, but he has to put all of that aside as odd and frightening things starts happening in the rural town...

I also made a version fo him with a raincoat, in honour of GK1 and PB:DA  - A detective/mystery game must have a main character with a raincoat...

Any comments? Except for the hands? ;D

Mats Berglinn

Looks great but I think the feet looks a bit weird, somehow. Maybe his arms are a bit, well... stiff. Otherwise, it's great.

Rincewind

Yeah, I noticed that, but I'm not really sure on how to make them better.
Maybe I could shorten them, as they are a bit on the long side right now.
And about the arms: I do have some ideas on how to change them now, to make them less stiff.
But thanks for commenting!

Snake

Rince, do you have a scanner? I'd try scanning a drawing of the character standing and trace it from there. It might help with what doesn't seem right.

Grim: "You're making me want to quit smoking... stop it!;)"
miguel: "I second Grim, stop this nonsense! I love my cigarettes!"

Sluggo

I think his pant legs are too short. You could try lengthening them so they touch his shoes.

Neole

I love the first one, short pant legs and all! Raincoat version alo looks good, but doesnt have so much character (goofiness) but if you can have both versions (indoor and outdoor scenes) that will be great.

I'd push his shoulders a bit lower down, he looks like he's permanently breathing in.

Also, the best way to fix up his hands might be to draw them sideways (just the way you would see yours if you stood in front of a mirror).

Otherwise it looks excellent.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

Snake:
Yeah, I do - And I might try that method just to see how it turns out.

Sluggo:
Hm, you're right. I'll try making them longer.

Neole:
Heh, glad you like it! And I was actually planning to do that - Having the raincoat one for outdoor scenes and the other one for indoor scenes.

Aussie:
Thanks for the tips! I'll try and whip up a new version... ;D

Changed the hands, the shoulders and the pants. Looks a bit better now.
I'm almost prepared to say that I'm really satisfied with a sprite for one of the first times in my life! ;)

Hobbes

Updated version looks terrific!

Mennuz

Really good :). The updated versions are perfect :)

Rincewind

Heh, again: Thanks a lot, I'm glad you like it. :)

the updated version is almost...PERFECT!!!!!

I love the hair...I'm not crazy, I'm just no good at hair.  I don't know if it is just my screen, but I can't see his nose and mouth.

Danny:
Heh, thank you!

Noed:
You like the hair?! OMG! No, sorry -  I'm quite pleased with it myself. ;)
And the mouth and nose could perhaps be darkened a bit - It's a bit hard to see even for me...
