Hello,
I am working on the background for a teenager-girl's room at the moment and I would appreciate comments on it.
I feel myself I should add some smaller objects. For example, I tried to pixel a teddy-bear and sit it on the bad but it just never turned out to look like a teddy... Any other hints for make the graphic more interesting is very welcome :)

Hm, the window, the door and the wardrobe seem quite out of persepctive. And the shadow in the far side of the room is irritating.

I like this room, though it could have some more details (e.g. pens or paper on the desk, stuff like that) I don't know anything about the teen, but in a todays teenager's room I would expect a CD-player etc.

cheers

Am I right in thinking that this room is based on a screenshot from The Sims 2?
The perspective in the picture appears to be wrong because the vertical lines in the picture (door, window, wardrobe etc) need to be vertical, not tilted as they are now.

The bright blue wardrobe doesn't really fit with the pink-y theme of the room, maybe a wood colour similar to the bed would look better.

Also some parts of the pic have black outlines but others don't, which kinda clashes. It would look better if the whole image either did or didn't use black outlines. Personally I think it would look better without.

I am a teen and have sister who is a teen and I have to say this room is too tidy! There should be crushed clothes in the corner, a school bag on the bed ,open books and papers on the desk. Also most teens nowadays have computer so you could maybe add that too!Hope you find these crits helpful! ;D

thinks I like in this picture + comments:
- the way the outlines are crooked to the outside, of which I appear to be the only one to like. BUT... the bed ought to be so too
-the Titanic poster: I saw that in my sisters room when she was teen.
-the railings on the right and the back

And what I dislike/wonder...
-what is a girl doing with a picture of a half naked girl on her wall? Or is it just hard to recognaise as something else?
-What's that white x-ray projector screen thingie doing there? Or is it for her to change clothes without anyone seeing... in her own room... where there is no-one else but her?
-The missing shading under the bed and the matress being the same level as the end of the bed
-missing treshold
-the thing about lining, colours etc. read above...
-the cupboard would look more normal if it didn't have legs... now it looks as it is there just to make the room not look empty

It looks more like a mirror to me. Strangely, it is very rough textured, like the walls are. Shouldn't a mirror be unruffled and shiny?

I think you need to reduce the noise on the walls. Otherwise it looks very.. girly. ::)

It is a girl's room, Haddas. Even if it is a teenager-girl's room.

Is it?!
Where are the lipsticks? The hairstyling products? The second telephone line? The five perfumes? The girly curtains? The soft carpet where she lies and reads about hot actors? The colourful pencils and other funny-looking writting stuff? The computer with the bubbly screensaver? The millions of shoes and tops? (OK, they may be in the wardrobe...)

You do need a teddy bear, include it even if you have to edit and paste a photo.

*cough* A girls room looking girly, is a GOOD thing. And I'd like to make a correction. I'll change the otherwise in my previous post to apart from.

Hi, wow, I almost did not see this was bumped up again. Thanks for all the good advise :)
The only thing that made me laugh was the mentioning of a pic of a naked woman at the wall.  ;D Actually thats supposed to be a version of the poster from "The English Patient". Of course its my fault that you thought of something else, but however it made me laugh  :)

I think if that ever is a mirror, it's a very dangerous on and I'd never take one in my room. Please attach it to the wall or someone will get hurt as it falls and breaks! Anyway, who has a mirror like that?

Totoro

Mmmh, 5 years ago my girlfriend had such a mirror. She bought it in some second hand store. She is married to another guy now, but I don't think that's because of the mirror.  ;)

I really don't recognize that thing as a mirror at all.

Maybe consider changing it to one of those stand-up tall oval oval ones that are attached to a stand?

All I'm saying is that it'd be a more iconic depiction of a mirror.

Something like the picture below, which was the first image in Google Images in a search for "mirror":

Not that it being first means anything in this case, but still.
