This is supposed to be a teenage girl, Hailey (I'm not sure about the exact age, but anyway). I would like opinions on this, and which one of the two pictures is better?

The second one would be good if it had the legs of the first I think.

I have a problem with the size of the sprite. Judging from the BG you have here in critics lounge (the bedroom), I would say that she's tooooo small. There could be 4-5 of them girls on the bed. Like Alice in Wonderland or something.
Just saying...
Other than that blue is a nice colour... And I like the sprite
Yes, I know.
The room is very large, and I don't why I drew it like that, because I already had a smaller sketch of it and I also had another sprite already that was much smaller.
Which is why there seems to be a very large problem here.
I was thinking I could make only this room large, and shrink everything else. But that doesn't sound logical, so I was thinking I could just make everything small like this in only one room, where I have to have the smaller sprite I had already made, which is why I made this small version of Hailey.
But I still have no clue what to do, because it'd be really hard to draw a bigger version of Hailey. Is there a way I can shrink it (the BG)? Or somebody shrink it for me? If I shrink it on Paint, it gets all squished and distorted.

Yeah, that one looks the best IMO
The right leg is maybe a bit too short.

Here I resized your image ;)
according to the door size the height should be good now.
Thought in the game the screen will have to scroll to see whole the room.
The frontal leg is longer than the other. Her ight hand is missing, or it'sin the pocket, which would make the coat go curvy orsuch on the pocket area. She looks a bit like those girls that I used to know, who lived in the countryside, and didn't care what they wore and smelled like horses and cowdroppings...
Now I'm not sure if this is what you're after, but her father would sure fit in a tractor cabin. If you wan't to make her like a common teenage gril, I'dsay, look at the ones aruond you on the streets, they all dress like each other...other than the freaks, and hmmm, balanced people, or those independent... anyway....
I think she's dressed fine... lot's of girls I know look that way and I guess it's ok.
The only suggestion I have is that it is hard to tell she is a girl as she doesn't really have a figure. But then if your intention is to have a tom-boy type girl, then fine.
nice simple style, i like it. her feet look a little awkward though.
i think it looks like an older version of Peppermint Patty,
(http://www.unitedmedia.com/comics/peanuts/meet_the_gang/images/meet_peppermint_patty_big.gif)
The right hand is there, I just didn't know how to draw it right, and it's a really light color.
I know one foot is lower than the other, but she's supposed to be kind of facing the other way.
All the teenagers I see look this way... but I do live in the country, so... xD

No its not... The LEFT hand is there though! In a really light color.
Oh. I always get left confused with right.
The other one is in the pocket, but I don't know how to make it look like it is.
you dont know how to make left hand look in pocket or look like right hand?
Um... yes.
That is, yes, I don't.
Um-question, should I post a new thread for a new character I just made, or just post it here?
WICH OINE? you want it to be in pocket or like right hand, out from pocket?
Either way, I just want it fixed. xD

I doubt he'd like the left hand to look like no hand at all... and wouldn't putting it in a pocket make it look like the right one anyway?
What you should do, is firstly draw the lines of the pocket... then adjust the colour of it so that it'd seem to be less flat as the surface of the jacket. Maybe some darkes shadin on the lines of some lihter on the centre of the sprite... I don't have the means to do a paintover right now, since I'm not on my computer...
And I'd still try shortening the other leg, you'd see it would still look like it was facing the way you want. And more normal...
EDIT; and then, I'd post the new character here, since this thread is still alive. If it had anything to do with the game...

fixed what?
anyway i made minor adjustments to this girl.(realy minor)
i made other leg a bit taller, hand-in-pocket-thing, and the placewhere legs star that pixel was on wrong sidre(cant explayn, look differences.)
Ok, thanks, that does look better.
And Tuomos...I still don't get what you were saying... jean jacket and jeans with little holes in it? Isn't that what everybody are always talking about and stuff, like "teens are always wearing jeans with holes in it and it looks so bad" and stuff. The basic teen stereotype...
But, er, yes, this is the other character. This is supposed to be Kyle, Hailey's ex-boyfriend...
(The legs are like that too, because I used the same picture as Hailey to draw Kyle, I just draw over them.)
Which one is better?
Here's a paintover that I did in 5 minutes:
21 colors + background color
- Changed colors.
- Made her a little thinner.
- Got rid of black outlines.
- Added simple shading.
If you spent more time on it, you can really make it look better!

I turned her into this... mostly to improve my own art. thought it might help you anyway
To be completely honest... I don't really like the paintover you did. (dkh's) It looks good art-wise, but I don't think it fits her personality. Not yet, anyway.
(Um... and yeah... Corey, I don't really like yours either... sorry)
Remember in the Secret of Monkey Island, Guybrush Threepwood looked like a "flooring inspector", but then in the second Monkey Island, he looked like a real pirate? Well, it's sorta similiar here. I'm acctually already planning to make a sequel (yep, I know that sounds weird, but I thought of the first game and the sequel to it at almost the exact same time) and in the first one, she's supposed to be the kind of mischievious 50% tomboy outcast, but in the second one, she's supposed to be the popular and snooty type...
Well, I'm not going to make her look like that yet, but in the second one, yes, that would definately work. In the first one, though; she's only going to be in it for like 20 seconds, and for the rest of the game it'll be her in her ex-boyfriends body, (they switch bodies) so it wouldn't matter much anyway.
Just so you know, in the second one, they are back in their own bodies and Hailey gets abducted by aliens, because the aliens were bribed by Kyle to bring her to him because he changed his mind and wants her back... so, you'd see Hailey alot more then.
It IS okay if I use your paintover in the second game, right? (I'm pretty new at AGS, so I don't really know... about anything, heh)
Oh... and by the way Corey... I keep forgetting to thank you for shrinking the room, so thanks. =)
np, thats a nice and wicked story you got there ;) anyway... I mostly did that "paint over" to improve my own art on characters. Still I posted it coz i got the arm out of her pocket and thought that might be what u needed or something :).
good luck with your game and chars ;) ;) :D
