Monsieur OUXX

Hi everybody,

Here is an "indiana Jones in suit" walk cycle.

I'd like to know your opinion.
But first, please read this:
- The anti-aliasing doesn't matter. There's no need for fancy shading.
- It's normal that the head is a bit big; there is a slight cartoony aspect to that Indy. It's an artistic choice.

So, if you see something really wrong with the walking animation, or if you have an idea for enhancing Indy's face, please let me know.

Note: if you decide to do a paintover, you must know that the sprite was scaled up 3 times. Yes, I'm aware of the Imgzoom tag, but it's all blurry on Firefox. Please don't start a flamewar about that.

Bonjour Monsieur,

Zee front view looks like Indy is on a catwalk, like doing modelling or something, and the back view looks like he's in a rush. Not a normal rush though, more like Dustin Hoffman retarded rush.

For more superior technical advices ask a different person.
Good day, sir!
Working on a RON game!!!!!

Dammit. I wouldn't be able to fix that even if my life depended on it :(

He's a pixel taller (or maybe even two pixels) in the back view, but maybe that's to do with giving room for his feet to move back? It's still something you'd need to take into account in aligning the sprites.

In my opinion all three are great. Especially the third one with the back. Those are always very tricky. I like how the shadow moves on the jacket and trousers.

Ghost

I think they look good, especially with the relatively low framecount. A couple of things, though:
- In the front view, there is one frame where the tie shifts to the right, in all other frames it is "still". Either make another frame where it also shifts to the left, or keep it still.
- The side view could use a darker shade where the jacket overlaps the trousers. Also, but this could be your style, I think the arms are a bit too short; they wouldn't stop at the waist but reach to roughly the middle of the tights.
- There is a flashing bright pixel in the back view that really stands out (left, when hand moves forward).

Miguel commented that "the back view looks like he's in a rush." I had the same sense. I think it has something to do with the space between the legs in the back view. We don't see it in the front view. I was also wondering about the head looking off to the left in the side view. Looks okay to me, otherwise.

Monsieur OUXX

OK, thanks a lot for all the feedback.

I think the animation is pretty great. In the side view his neck seems to be very slim, perhaps beef it up with an extra pixel?

I think the animations  are  pretty nice, I just have a couple of comments regarding the sprites (not related to what you have stated as stylistic choices). As Snarky said, you might have an issue with the height difference on the back view but I am sure you are aware of this. Also, I am not sure how I feel about the shoes on the side view. I wonder what they would look like one pixel shorter.  Finally, the ears on the sideview might be one pixel too far back.  It sort of suggests to me that the head is slightly angled towards the camera.  If you moved it one pixel forward you could add a bit of hair behind making it more consistent with the back view.
