Title: The AGS Ezine Website ... (added Issue 4 - Dec. 03)
Post by: Darth Mandarb on Tue 02/12/2003 22:03:49
I've been working on the online version of Vel's Ezine.

I had an online version of Issue 6, but now (in communication with Vel) I'm making a site for all versions.

I've only got Issues 5 & 6 online but I wanted to get some opinions before continuing:

Issue 6 :: November 2003 (http://www.twin-design.com/agsezine/)
Issue 5 :: October 2003 (http://www.twin-design.com/agsezine/issue5_index.cfm)
Added December 03, 2003
Issue 4 :: September 2003 (http://www.twin-design.com/agsezine/issue4_index.cfm)

Please take a look and let me know if the navigation is easy to understand, the text is not an eye-sore, the flow is good, etc.

Note: There will be some broken links as this is a W.I.P.

Thanks!

EDIT - The look has changed, so if you've looked before it isn't the same :)

UPDATES:
December 03, 2003
* Uploaded Issue 4
* Added to navigation; 'View Cover' and 'Home' for each issue
* Increased size of Screenshots for new versions
* Links to Downloadable versions now work
* Will be working on increasing screenies for existing versions.

Wow, I really like the design, navigation is quick and easy, good job.
I only found one minor problem, that there isn't a link to the main news page of each issue, so you have to click 'back' on your browser.
Not much of a problem, but could be a nice touch.
Good job :)

It's beautiful!

One thing, though. I think you should be able to click on the screenshot thumbnails to enlarge them. Right now they are the size of a large postage stamp.

In the doc form of the ezine, I could always just resize the individual pictures, and they kept full detail.

EDIT: Ok, so some of screenshots are a bit bigger. I missed that on my first viewing. I still think you should be able to see their enlarged versions.

big brother - I was thinking about that when I was working on it.  In the pdf or the doc versions you can zoom in and stuff.  I think I'll build a link into the top of each article called 'Screenshots' where you can view all the pix from each article.

highwaygal - originally the top link to 'Return Home' served that function.  I thought it would be better suited taking you back to the main page of the site.  The way this will function will be that when you go to the site the current issue will be the 'live' version of the site.  As a new one comes out the current one gets archived.

Blah blah blah long story short (too late) I'm going to add a 'Issue X - Main' link into the navigation of each issue.

Thanks for the feedback and if anybody has more suggestions keep 'em comin'  The more I get the better this'll be!!

Thanks.
