Hi
I'm working on a sequel for my game Silent Knight. I've finished three backgrounds so far and I would love some c+c on them before putting them in the game...

Outside King Arnold's castle.

The city gate

A house outside of town

Here's also a couple of characters:

This guy is guarding the city gate

And this guy is selling maps with celebrity homes

looks fantastic, especially the first one!

In the first picture, the shading is not always the same on the objects. Sometimes the shading is on the left side and some others are on the right side. As for the second picture, the shadow of the sign looks kinda off and the little bushes have no shadow at all. And, I think the door is a bit off, even though it's not supposed to be of correct perspective because of your cartoony style. The third picture looks flat on the right, and I can see that the house casts a shadow on the trees which isn't possible since the sun is on the other side (the trees should cast shadow on the house instead). Same goes for the shadow on the ground casted by the bridge. Also, the right ground looks "gridy", I mean it's obviously tiled. And maybe the sun needs some changing, I dunno what exactly

The characters are great and fit the style of the backgrounds perfectly. I don't really have anything else to say about them

That's only my observations, I really dig your style and I'm looking forward to see those backgrounds in a game!

I love your stuff. No crits, just love it. What programs do u use?

=The=Brat=

Great work. Maybe you could try Flash MX for your style would be great in flash

He-Man

Thanks for the crits!
Guybrush - I see the problems with the shaddows. I think I'll fix that later. The reason why the picture looks flat and the texture looks gridy is because it's supposed to look a little like the mountains or whatever in Mario:

That's also the reason for the hole in the wall.
There's also a reference to AGS in the city gate picture...

Tattytorn - I use Photoshop. I paint over scannings of my drawings...

It looks great. The inconsistency in using sharp and anti-aliased edges bothers me a little bit, though, to be honest. (I'm talking about the 1st and 3rd image) Looking at the first picture, I find the landscape that's in the background, and the sky, to be more attractive than the trees and houses that are in the foreground. Maybe you can apply the same technique?
