To post a walking anim, save it as *.gif or *.swf, both can be shown by most browsers.

For a player character he's a bit plain. I mean, he could stand out a bit more so it was more intersting to look at him and play with him. Such plain style you have, and as corey there pointed out, then I reckon the character as it is needs no special shading, it depends on the way the game is looking... Well I don't know Final Fantasy at all, so sorry if I'm a bit lost.. Oh, and by plain I mean no bad, just the style... you know, not much detain, well, he is 3 colours :D

The drab look about the charachter is kinda the angle im looking for coz this guy doesnt know who he is and he has a dark past and i may be thinking of developing the story into his creation he isnt human i dont know what he is

Hes still missing somthing though

Just a hint of his eyes perhaps? Check out Loom for how they added character to hooded figures.
Also, his waistline is very low.

...or maybe he's using one of those fancy belts!  ;D

Try to make his body more round. He is looking a bit too flat.

the character is for the beginning cutscene
He will change eventually
He starts as a wraithy object then is transformed into a
human so he is supposed to be a bit flat

But he does have quite a trendy belt dont he

He's seriously missing some thought put into him before you started to draw -- How are you going to animate him?

I suggest less, but better chosen colors. Look what krysis did - 3 colors, but shaded as hell.

Your second attempt is better than the first one.
But something is wrong with his shoulders. His hut should not start at his shoulder but around his neck.

One suggestion: Don't airbrush. It's the worst way to shade. Do it pixel by pixel if you have to but it'll look better, I guarantee it.

I really dont want to be harsh but he looks like a Lego's Darth Sidious figure. :-\

I actually like the first version wayyy more. The shading of the second is not correct at all, in one of the pictures he looks as though he's having multiple legs. You could just use a simple two coloured shading and it would look great.

I hope this one helps:

The first one is 4 colors made with paint. The second one is the same image only soften enough. I never tried it but if u want u might first do a simple low colored version with paint then animate it and if u think u r ready with it you can still soften it to make it more colours.

Corey: Unless I'm mistaken (which, you know, I'm not), you=needs t3h less asscaptainry.  Not every single thing you post has to be sarcastic, rude, or condescending. This is the Critic's Lounge, not the "This sucks, and that's all I'm going to say" Lounge. You could at least tell him ways of improving it, if you don't like it.

I've been following this for a while, but haven't had much to say till now. I like Krysis' interpretation, but he doesn't seem to like having cloaked men that aren't hunched, which from my understanding you don't want.  The bottom of yours is flat... it either needs feet or to be rounded out, or at least to be bunched at the bottom if it is falling flat to the ground.

So... Maybe you simply want more serious version?
*Still*, airbrushing is not needed. My version - 6 colors

That one's awesome...  although the little flap of cloth on his hood doesn't look right.  However that looks like exactly what it should be.

really nice  but i got to make a comment, the head area  has "weight"  and the cloak looks like its covering something u cant see (plus) but what ilooks like it covering is not a head but a ball (minus). i had this wacky mental   image of "him" unccovering his head and its a yellow smilly  (scary indeed)
maybe im alone in this but does ne1 else  see this?
