I just wanted to get some c&c on my first sprite. It's supposed to be a WW1 soldier in damaged uniform.

There are (no offense) lots of problems with this.
For a start, the skin is far too pale, but most importantly, google World War 1 soldier- that uniform looks nothing like a world war 1 uniform. - Here (http://images.google.com/images?gbv=2&hl=en&safe=off&client=opera&rls=en-GB&q=world+war+one+soldier+uniform&btnG=Search+Images)
And you've fallen into the pitfall many new artists fall into by placing the lightsource directly between the observer and the object- pillow shading. - A good Shading tutorial Here. (http://www.natomic.com/hosted/marks/mpat/shading.html)
But for a very first sprite, it's not awful. It's not great, but I've seen things a lot worse passed off as sprites.
Looks more like Rambo after some ass-kicking to me ;D
