This is the inside of a the house i drew a while back, if you can remember. And once again will most likley be used in a practise game.
so here it is

i need some real help on the colours, but everything else is up to you! ohh and the sofa was drawn in a couple of seconds because thats one of the things i really cannot draw.
thanks
-Daz
Maybe add a carpetty texture to the floor and a wood texture to the door and fireplace.
oh please no textures!
I would reduce the glare on the tv, and shouldnt there not be a fire in the fireplace, that could later be replaced by an animated object of fire?
When i said textures I didn't mean photoshop textures btw..
Just draw in some wood grains manually and maybe some fluffy carpet bits..
:)
Funny, that's almost exactly how my attempts at sofa's usually turn out as well. ;D
The only things I'd say would be:
- The shadows don't look quite right for the light sources - for example the TV shadow should probably be further down the wall if it's being cast by the ceiling light.
- More clutter (e.g. stuff on the table, or the mantlepiece), to break up all the straight lines.
I did an edit:
Old:

New:

Done in paint as always, spent too much time on it
Wow, that's really nice!
I think that you should add a Moose Head (Serious) to the empty space between the chimeny and the left wall.
I'd draw it but I am the world's worst pixel artist :)
Dammit Opo! Make a friggin game now so I can play with you're lovely Backgrounds!!!
BOT: I would reduce the thickness of the lines, to 1 pixel wide. 100k!3
Yeah, Opo. You got the talent. What about that SQ:HoD? ;)
Yeah I liked the moose idea:

Done in paint as always
And yeah, I gave up an Space Quest, I can't stay with ideas for long.
/me beats Opo Terser and steals his tallent
You're too late Evil, I already cut out his heart and ate it... therefore I have his powers.
That wasn't his heart. It was a wet sock.
And Opo, you could be a background artist for a project then? A lot of projects need one.
That freaking moose head ROCKS!
When rtf suggested it, I thought "might work, might not" but that looks damn cool.
Daz: I think your screenie looks great! I'd agree about reducing tv glare, but also maybe do something with the curtains. They look as though there's a breeze blowing through the door, pushing them against the windowpane, but the doors closed, so they should be hanging straight and still.
apart from that, top effort!
OMG tersera that rocks!!!!!
ill tell daz to check back to this thread, it doesnt look like he's seen the update. He'll be happy ;)

ps hope you don't mind if i use that edit as a bases of my bg in my practise game?
computer is now better and i have done this edit it has some of the ideas from opos edit but i have changed the style to more cartoony, don't get me wrong opo's edit was top notch, but not the style im going for.
i suppose thats the idea of the critcs lounge, to adapt and improve.
anyway here it is

right i realise my edit is not as good as it could be if i used opo's edit so i used and it turned out like this
(http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/redo222_.GIF)
i tried to reduce the sinister look and clump the pixles more.
