Gorgeous BGs as usual ^_^.  The only thing I'm going to be nitpicky about is that the leaves of the trees in the 2nd coloured background seem a bit "layered" and flat compared to the bushes.

I would love a tutorial as well, if you ever find the time ^_^

Agreed about the trees, they look far too cartoonly and flat compared to the brush details on the trunks, im pretty much overhauling that one anyhow.

I'll keep hold of the PSDs and make a mini-tut for here in a week or 2s time once my exhibition is over!

Wish me luck :)

AlbinoPanther

Best of luck to you at the exhibition!

Mention AGS there  ;)

And show them who is the boss  8)

That's the last of them, thank god, just have to finish and touch up the others now!

Thanks very much for the feedback all, it's very enoucraging to hear. I redid the garden scene, i felt the other tree left it looking too symmetrical and framed. Redid the leaves for more detail, and I also added the 'bloom' to give it a really bright effect. Still needs a few little bits adding, but im quite pleased with it:

That's a beautiful image.
It's a bit grey looking though.
I cranked the brightness, contrast and saturation +20 and I think it's improved...

Cheers for that, i know what you mean, i've been having difficulty with brightness all year long when bringing work etc onto other computers, because my monitor seems to be extra bright for some reason!

Please do not revive old threads unless necessary. You have added absolutely nothing to this thread. If you want to let the creator know how you feel about his work, send him a PM.

And preferably some money too.

I have to say that all of the backgrounds are just breath-takingly awesome! Now if I could do that, I might be able to make a game.....

The image with the bed and stereo. Maybee it's just me but it kinda reminds me of maniac mansion and the room where Green Tentacle is. I mus say that you have outdone yourself and created some kickhiny backgrounds. Keep going at it. Now for the love of God. Finish secret of blue lagoon  ;D. It's been over a year since i've been here last and it's still not finished. I was hopping it would be. FINISH IT. Can't you see I can't sleep at nights  ;D.

Dan, you don't have to explain why you haven't been around... we all know you've been building a huge Indie-game empire. It makes all the sense in the world to us. But we are all very honored that you have come back to your roots to rub your success in our faces. (we like that.) lol

Just kidding man. You have some very amazing pieces. You and MashPotato should do a collab together... just the two of you. I would like to see your styles as one. Just an idea.  ;D

Why are you digging up old threads Rharpe? I thought you'd know better than that!

To me it's not old. I haven't been around lately and have been going through looking at threads I haven't read before. And when and if it is something I feel I would like to post on I do it. If this forum had a mechanism where it made threads disabled after a month or so, then I wouldn't do it. But being that these are "enabled" threads, (not "active" per sae,) I feel they still are open for posting. If I am wrong in doing this, I am sorry.

So what do you suggest I do in the future, restart the same thread in my own words? Maybe you should add this to the "Think Before You Post" area so everyone is on the same page? I hope I don't come off to you as being mad, I'm not. When and if I'm doing something that is displeasing to everyone, I appreciate being told. Thanks.  ;)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

You can always send a PM. Sure you can go all the way back to the last thread and dig it up because you may or may not have seen it but just because you can doesn't mean you should.
