So I published a short, bad game with Elmo in it, which was a shooter, but then I thought about making a serious one. I drew up a title card entirely in MS Paint (because Photoshop is overrated). You know the drill, critiques, whatever, etc.

A few suggestions:

1. Focus on your strength.  The font is the strongest element in the picture.  It is also the first thing the viewers sees.  You want them to think ACTION!!!, I presume.  Add textural quality to the text to really bring it to life!

2. Dark Background.  The theme of this game seems rather dark with the undead and various blood spatters.  That impression doesn't carry over effectively with a light background.

3. The Characters.  This is the area that requires the most thought.  My first suggestion would be to give the hero a more intense pose.  His weapon should be unloading right into that nasty to the right of him!  Or, if you prefer to have the weapon emitting smoke, as if he'd just finished off a barrage of nasties, then show them entirely finished off (with messy results).  Alternately, the characters can be obscured, or omitted altogether in favor of a pattern of blood stains, or similar designs.  Sometimes simplicity is divine.

Also, I agree that Photoshop is over-rated.
