Title: Title Screen and Website...
Post by: CMK2901 on Tue 23/01/2007 22:35:38
Hi everyone,

I'm got a new piece of media (title screen) from my project that I would like to share for comments/criticism.  But rather than just post the picture, I figure I might as well kill two birds with one stone by linking to my website and getting some comments on the website as well.

CMK Studios, Science Fiction game page (http://cmk.byethost22.com/sf/sf.htm)

In the title screen, I imagine that I'd put the menu items in the open starry area at the top of the picture.

Comments/criticism??

I think it looks terrific. It has that 1950's "B" movie feel to it.

I really like it. A lot.

Is it an AGS-based game? Stupid question I know.

Quote# Adventure Game Studio (free) - An extremely user-friendly 2D adventure making toolkit. Free for commercial use as well. We are using this for our current project

It appears that it is.

Good luck with the game. It looks very good. and the screen as well! Lovely B movies feeling indeed!

Looks quite good.
If I'd add something, then it'll be some noise, scratches and damage to the title image, so the thing looks worn down and old.

"Easy" way to add the old skool movie look and feel is to use Windows Movie Maker and load images you want to distress- then just pick old film or sepia etc. as the effect, save to an AVI.

To get still shots you could use AVD Video Processor 7.5.

Despite all the other digital stuff we have for actual film / TV I still definitely play around with consumer and prosumer stuff, since some of it works way better and easier than expensive... crap... :) Plus it's fun. Like sellotape and scissors editing!

Also Movie Maker may well be sitting on your PC for free, chewing up space and memory like the Microsoft sea anenome software it is. :)
