Title: Two portraits
Post by: Andail on Wed 18/02/2004 21:54:17
Been practising photoshop colouring on traditional sketches...I think the result is pretty pleasing, if I may say so myself :)

The sketch behind it:

the sketch to the man portrait:

This sketch isn't as thoroughly shaded, and as a result the coloured version is much rougher.
The second portrait certainly has more expression, although the first might look a bit more "professional".

Please give feedback!

Did your sister make that girlsketch? It's very good!
You´ve got to show me how you did the colouring of it
But I understand that a nice shaded sketch makes alot difference when photoshopping.

It seems coloured with colour pencils! Cool, I really like it, and I can´t really find anything wrong with it. Maybe you´re waiting some crits to improve the psinting, but you´ll need to wait for someone better than me ^_^, sorry...

Very nice Andail! I would like to see what you can do with the first one at a higher resolution.

Very good!
First one: great details and nice coloring (the nose especially stand out nicely). The only thing, that i'm not very fond of, are highlights. Their blurriness and "accuracy" somehow clash with other sharper, and a bit "grainy", coloring- it's a thing that screams "computer coloring"... which is a shame as the rest of the painting looks very natural.

Second- love it, have no critic (even though, i like black&white one even better).
