Hello everybody.
I would be gratefull if you could give me some feedback on these walking cycles.
The original height of the sprite is 60 pixels
Both animations consist of 6 frames each.

I am more or less satisfied with the front view, but the side view looks a bit stiff
Any kind of comment will be wellcome, though I prefer specific suggestions.
Thank you in advance.
Angelos.
I can't see anything.
I can see them.
Well, the first thing that strikes me is the arms, in my opinion they make her look as if she's marching a little. If this is what you're going for then hey! good job, but if not I'd make them a more relaxed.
About her face, maybe try rounding the chin a little (in the side view)?
Also, I think the shading on the legs (in the side view) looks a bit strange - I understand that it would get darker on the......"underside" type bits, but at the moment I think it looks a lttle as if the light source is constantly changing, & this may not work well in a room.
Lastly, something about the hair flick (in both views) looks a little odd to me, I think it could be a little too exaggerated. Ooh, & also I can't really see the sticky up fringe (that you can see in the side view) in the front view.
But I do quite like the sprite. Good job!
in the side view I think the peak of her hair should move, very nice animations btw.
Wow, this looks really good. A few things I noticed.
- Her front walk cycle is good but her hands flip up way to much at the end.
- Her breasts are too curved on the front view. Try cutting 2 pixels on each breast from the middle.
- The hair looks good but the bangs are too much I think. She will look fine without it.
- The shirt could be lowered a pixel or two.
- Her thighs are too thick twards the knees. The first one looks like she has Hammer pants on. Heh, try to model off of the second, because it looks really good.
- Add head bobs on both cycles.
- Highlights on the pants look funny. Maybe try an angled light source rather then a top down.
Fantastic animation indeed.
Let me add that I think she moves one or two pixels too much to the left/right. Maybe a more subtle swinging would be an improvement.

OK, thank you, all of you.
I took your suggestions in consideration and I came up with these.

Changes:
1) The proportions have changed, so that the updated sprite looks a bit less cartoonish.
Now she's got longer legs, smaller head.
2) She has lost some weight. Though cute, the first sprite was indeed a bit fat, especially the thighs.
3) Her hair does not flic. Though I thought this was a nice touch I guess it may become
annoying if you watch it for a couple of hours.
4) She swings less at the front view.
5) Her hands swing less at the side view
6) The lighting at her pants now comes from the front (and the far leg consists of a single color)
I think I am completelly satisfyied with her now, and I would like to hear your general coments.
(i.e. coments like "she sucks because I prefere blondes" are acceptable at this stage)
Thanks again, Angelos.
Well, I have nothing to say about her hair colour because I happen to like brunettes ;)
The animation has definitely been improved, especially the front view.
Maybe all that's left are a pair of hands for the lady?

I dont like the new feet on the sideview, they dont look like she's bending at the ancle.
Agreed. Although women tend to walk oddly in heels, it still looks pretty unnatural. Either have her strike with her heel or toe -- NOT the flat of her foot.
Though not necessary, you may want to put a touch of bob/ sway in her hair.
Nevertheless, it's still very nice.
all good improvements, though I must say, I liked the "look" of the first one better. One thing I noticed in the front view was that you made her put her feet exactly infront of each other, like a model on the catwalk. If that was what you were going for, then fine, but it looks a bit "put-on". Also, although the hair movement was a but much in the first one, you should not completely remove it. The shoes look a bit fat for high heels in the front view, and the heels themselves look very fat in the side view, bigger than the actual feet.
Love the first version. The face is great and i like a bit of "chubby" feel (in a cute way) to her figure.
I think you lost some of her character and charm with those edits. Also, to me, animation looks much more stiff and less interesting (generic) now.
I'd say, stick with the first one.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with Igor on this one. The first one had loads of personality. The second, while good, doesn't have the character that the first run did.
There are only two crits I have:
The shading seems inconsistent (as was mentioned)
I might add 2 frames to the side-view. It might stream line it just a little bit more
Other than those, I think I'd say go with the first batch.
Just my $0.02 :)
Thanks again.
You know, I also liked her head in the first version.
On the other hand, I think the second animation is much better.
So, OFF WITH HER NEW HEAD. The old head Is atached to the new body
and Voila : Mrs Francenstein

I also increased the swing of the hands in the front view. It makes her look
more.. ehm determined.

ALL women walk like this (more or less). It their way to say "look at me ! I'm pretty !"
About the high heels.... Well, I cant just have a cute female character without heels !
Look at Lara, she's got heels, Look at Kate W. She's got heels,(If fact they DONT but you know what I mean) Anyway, if you can find me a way to make the heels shorter than one pixel, I will be glad to hear it :-)
Anyway I tried to correct the problem with her ankle I hope it is better now.
I don't want to use more frames. More frames = More pixes = More problems
Third time pays for all. Your final feedback if you please.
Angelos.
her hair should move slightly the front view looks like her hair's been glued to the side of her face, and you can't see the peak in the front view I prefer it without the peak but that's my opinion.
A good start. I think it'd be better with the slight hair movement you had, originally.
Side view:
The arm movement was better in the first version. The arms here are way too stiff. It looks like she doesn't have elbows (her arms never bend). You're shading is also a little erratic.
Front view:
You've got the funky arm movement back again. Her arms go in too far on the last two frames of each arm swinging forward. On the last of those two frames, her hands swing way in, which looks weird.
If arms are going to swing more than in a casual walk, it might be a good idea to exaggerate the motion... a good example:

A good start.
Indeed a good start, but I have to go on. There is no way to reach the PERFECT sprite,
and of course different people have diferent views of what "perfect" is.
There are about 10 more characters and 50 backrounds for this game.
So I declare this case closed.
I thank everyone for your helpfull opinions. You will all be included in the credits of
my game when it is released if ever (i.e. don;t hold your breath)

wait a sec...just to warn you of an obvious flaw, the girls "fringe" hair is downwards in the front view, but upwards in the side view. Other than that, it turned out pretty nicely.
One or two things bother me. Mainly, in the front view, she looks like she's slapping herself... Then that little strand on her neck should move just a bit...
