Title: Whats wrong with my character?
Post by: Jakerpot on Sun 22/03/2009 02:09:28
Hey guys, i was making a bigger version of Clerk (my game's hero) for a cutscene, but it isn't working! Lo_Res_Man was helping me, WAS helping me, because he disappeared. Well, he's style is totally diferent from mines, so as you can see i'm having some problems with turning the character bigger, it doesn't look the same character. Can some expert (or almost expert) help me? Thank you very much.

OBS: Paint overs are welcome!

:'( i will try, but i can't!!! I just can't, i suck with characters, i can only make backgrounds, when attempting to make characters they are made with a big FAIL write on their foreheads! I think i should ask someone to do it for me, you know, the characters.

I'm no expert at all with pixel art, but if I was trying to upscale something, I'd blow up the original to the desired size. Then, ignoring the quality, use it as an underlay over which you could trace/re-shade/whatever the new version so the basic shape and proportions would be the same.

A good tip, but before you do that, I'd suggest you fix up the smaller version a little. Unless his arms are actually rubber tubes and his crotch area is a patch of smooth skin,  these proportions sort of don't work.
