Okay I made this for the current Background Blitz and since I have already entered it I am now interested in what I could have done to make it better

So tell me what you guys think

Ghormak

I really like it. I think the colours are great. However, I think the contrast between the mountains and the sky makes the horizon look a bit too jagged.

A quick edit I did:

You maybe weren't going for a "soft" look, but as it's way back in the background, I think it looks better when the horizon isn't as strongly defined as in your original pic.

My 0.02$. Opinions may vary.

Nice background, the sound effects you put in should bring this background alive! I think shadows under the objects could improve it though.

Mage

nice but the sand seems a little bit too flat.

Scummbuddy

I would make more of an impression in the sand around the boat stoppers, since the water keeps moving around it, the sand should erode behind it. yes to the addition of shadows. and i guess this is a pre-war shot, since the sand and water is not all red, and there arent little lines of chain gun bulletholes in the sand and bomb holes everywhere.

I think you did a great job with this piece.
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Hmm Good stuff :D

Is this for a project, if so I would like to see more.

I really like the bunker and dragons teeth although, as Scummbuddy said they need to be dug into the sad a bit more.  Oh and maybe some shell holes in the beach would add to the effect.  Watching Saving Private Ryan would be good for reference.

Really nice one. Could have a bit more detail, though, such as (mine?) lumps on the sand, or a foot step tracks of a guard solider or something like that. Or a flag on the bunker. Reminds me a bit one level from Unreal Tournament.
