Sorry, but I must say that that hair is incredible!  The character you made, though not all appealing to me (heck, I'm a guy), is well done.

And, Im really glad to see you back on the boards.  I know I missed you.  [que cheesy romance music]  Wait, no, not like that! [Record scratch sound to silence]
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

Erwin_Br:Good point on the pinkie. Will be addressed. :) And thanks.
Scummbuddy: Heh, no prop, no prob, can't please everybody. But he IS meant to be unappealing...just wait till you see his apartment!
12431: Be my guest. You want some mustard with that?

Unbelievable mix of reality and cartoon-look! I can not believe the balance in the anatomy and proportions!

That is just fabulous, Xadhoom. I have been very impressed by your work so far, but this is just outstanding!
Every aspect seems to be totally top-notch, even the lighting.

May I ask what kind of a 3D course it is? Are you in a art school or is it just an individual course not related to
any school or something? I'm interested because I'd like to study something like that as well and you seem to
be doing stunning work on it. I mean, it CAN'T be a bad course.

Keep it up. This really is eyecandy!

Erwin_Br_ Sorry, forgot to answer your questions. I use 3D Studio MAX 5.1 with Character Studio 4 and do the textures in Photoshop. As for tutorials, sorry no. I still haven't found a good one. I suggest you invest in some of the books out there. They're definately worth the money.
Evil: Thankew, thankew. :D
Pessi: *Blush* Heh, thanks. As for the course, it is a 19 week crash course in "cinematics", menaing we don't bother much with animation as such, but more on making things look good. Different render techniques, correct modelling methods, how to map a model properly, that sort of thing. Very very useful. I've gotten soooo many questions answered. :D

An update on the character. Have gotten to the point of facial expressions now! Yay!

That is sweet man, my only problem with it is that in images 4 and 6...he looks...EVIL! hehe :P

Jesus Christ! I bow to you my friend. That is major film qualitity right there. One of my goals before I finish highschool was to make a little animated short using maya or something. You have boosted my want to actually compleat this task. Maybe your could give us a written step by step on how you did this? Well, not in the program but did you draw out these before you modeled them? What is your base process? Heh, I just thought of who he looks like, Adam from Extended Play on TechTv. :)

That's a really great model! It has loads of character to it. The only thing i could maybe nitpick on is that you could've maybe put more slices for the top of the ears unless there's some poly limit, but it doesn't really matter!

Gilbert

Really nice pictures.

Heh but the only thing I'd like to say is that you seemed to have borrowed a time machine from Eric, how can you be always a month ahead of us?
