Am I missing a frame? So far I have 7 frames of animation. I'm just getting the feeling I'm missing 1 for some reason. How many frames does a walk cycle usually have just out of curiosity?

PSDÃ, HERE in case someone wants to play with it:

nope, looks pretty perfecto in that department..

maybe you could add a 'hop' in her step..?

edit: upon downloading the .psd, i can see you are missing a frame.. even though it looks fine.

you need this frame, but with the legs and arms swapped. (left arm back, left leg forward, etc..) make it the new frame number 5.

Her hair comes a bit too far ahead of the head (the hair behind her head, that is).

Go the tongue twister!
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

Err... just curious (I am fanatic of Kyrandia, BTW), WHY are you doing this?

Anym

Nope, you got them all. The number of frames in a walkcycle can vary greatly, but Hand of Fate's has these seven. As you can see from the comments, even ripped walkcycles can be improved upon, tough. ;)
I look just like Bobbin Threadbare.

Thanks everyone.

I'm just using Zanthia to make a walk cycle for my heroine. Nothing really Kyrandia related though.

aussie

It's not bad at all, but I think her stride should be a bit longer.

I agree with Aussie. I'd make het steps longer. She also looks likes she has round feet at the moment.

When she's moving her left leg forward it seems to stop just before it should, not straightening out completely. Neither of the legs seem to have any motion in the knees.
Her boobs are a bit too big and bouncy, but i guess that comes down to taste...  :=

Enlightenment is not something you earn, it's something you pay for the rest of your life.

exactly my point i made above.

i didn't actaully notice her boobs bouncing like that.. but yeh, that's a bit OTT.

If anyone wants to see the near completed product, you can check out this demo (4megs):

I think the front walk cycle still needs some work. The boob problem should be fixed.

aussie

I downloaded the demo: super professional looking art. Congratulations.

I've following your artistic prowess for awhile now and I really hope this all ends up being part of a game. The only problem I see in that regard is keeping up the quality (I imagine each of those backgrounds must take ages to draw). Good luck regardlesâ,¬s.

With regard to her walkcycle:

- Sides: You haven't updated the side walk for the demo, have you? There's a much better looking one a couple of posts above.

- Up: Her hair swings a bit too much to the sides. The effect is good but exaggerated. Also, her legs are way too far apart and you're probably missing a couple of frames. It's kinda jumpy.

- Down: Again, her legs look a tiny bit too far apart, and you're missing a couple of frames. Perhaps you should go for a catwalk type step, where one leg almost fully covers the other.

- Standing pose:  :o
