Title: 7 Days a phony (SOLVED, yay!)
Post by: R4L on Wed 21/02/2007 07:53:42
Can someone upload a good copy of 7 Days a Skeptic? Everyone I've downloaded has some weird issue: All the music is replaced with some stupid atari game music (from colxfile's Secret Quest!) and it's been a while since i've played a good, engrossing game.

Much appreciated!

Make sure that there's no MP3 files in the "My Documents" folder entitled Music1.mp3, Music2.mp3, etc. I think that's a possible issue you're encountering, so it's not that the copies of 7 Days a Skeptic are bad or anything.

Weird, I've downloaded it yesterday from this site and it's all fine. Or I just can't recognize bad things when I hear them.

Yeah, err, My guess is what Geoffkhan said. And a virus it is not, no chance, no way, never. They don't do that, and they don't come from here.

Errm, eh...

/me ponders how to respond with a serious face

I suggest you run a virus scan on your computer. I agree mIRC is a crappy program, but it's less a virus than Windows itself. And you don't actually download it from Yahtzee's computer, I have a reason to believe he uploaded the game somewhere quite a while ago, which just means if there was a bitchy virus on his computer that was to integrate with the game it'd at least mean he'd have to upload it again, which I reckon he did not do, at least not by himself to the adventuregamestudio.co.uk.

Well I don't use mIRC, I use ChatZilla, and my computer is scanned regularly, so I don't think a virus is a problem.

I'll try Geoffkhan's method first, and post back if it doesn't work.

EDIT: That did it! Thanks for the help guys!  :)

Yeah, that happened to me with the Jazz Man demo. I had a theme song sample of the game in a folder, and whenever I played any AGS game in that folder, it would play that theme at a certain point. I thought Geoffkhan copied that music off of another site, but I guess I had the same problem as you, R4L.
