QuoteNo need for two threads. Everyone go here!

That's odd, because the other thread is the official thread of the joke, AGA. Ah well, surely you know best(???)...

Dualnames

I was fooled for a while. then i noticed the names and that a post of Cluey was deleted.. as well as mine. I checked to find Buck Lamborghini but no one by that name then i searched for Jim Shnaaps and no one by that name, checked Valve's website nothing. So i checked the XNA fake site and I realised for a pro supposed to be site it had many off topics than it should. As well as Chris Jones personal address which i'm planning to put on a mail bomb.
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

I think the idea is just too silly to be true. I mean Steam and MS are big commerical companies. They are only out to make money. You have to admit that adventure are not so populair anymore (commercial games). Why would they want to invest in something they can't sell very well?
Well, that's not exactly the truth...I've played a long very nice adventure games (not only these here on the AGS-website)...Syb*ria for example is a very nice game...About MS and Steam - you're right that they are sticking to the big money (especially MS  >:(, Steam (Valve) is a big company too, but they make very nice games)...

And yes, there is a trend of non-adventure-games that rule the market now...I don't think that anyone will make games like Indy (LC and FoA), MI, MM, MM:DoT etc. from the big companies...But we still have AGS  ;D and can make games for free and have fun.

PS: Well, I really fell for this joke :). First - the thread was very official and after I read it I believed that it was true (congrats to the author ;)), and second even more important fact was that I forgot which day it was  ;D Sooo, add fact 1 to fact 2 and there it is - a pissed off AGS-fan :P
Thanks again for the nice joke ;) Oh, and I almost forgot - the next time somebody knows that it is the 1st of april and that it is all joke, please DO NOT post something like "Haha, it is a joke, fools! It's the 1st of april." or something like that. You'll spoil it for the others :) I didn't noticed any such threads though (the moderators did a nice and quick job), only a couple of post like "Where is my previous post?" :D Remember that more and more newbies come every day :) So if you know the joke, there are much more who don't ;)
I am a mighty pirate. Arrrrgh!

Well I didn't sign up to try and let people know it was a joke(oh and I didn't know work it out at first) but frankly it was not funny and don't you guys care that there were actually people that were sucked in and really worried about this, or do you find that funny too? Stop going overboard with the jokes, the Playstation one was funny but freaking people out isn't!

I wasn't referring to you actually, I was talking about the bevy of people who signed up to just post how it's an April Fool's joke (you can see "Posts: 1" [or another small #] under their nickname).

And even though I was probably as angry as you were worried, I don't think this joke was overboard. Chill! All's well that ends well  after all  :)

Mmmm, those people really do spoil things for everyone. After all a forum is a place where people pretend not to see the obvious and not a place where people discuss things! :)

Sorry for spoling the fun of the people that pretended to not know, they knew what they didn't already know!! :)

Hope I helped those that were concerned.

Peace!!

Funnily, I came to the AGS website actually EXPECTING it to look different, as I have been around for a few years and all.

And even so, I did a triple take when it loaded up. I fell for the gag despite expecting it for a couple of seconds. How silly.

I think my favourite AGS April Fool was the year the site was changed to "Ultimate AGS" (or something?) The site that DGMacphee designed. Genius. The shareware one was pretty darned effective also. Good work this year though!

Finally the site returned for normal. And yea, this was a bad joke since it was basically the same April Fool's joke used last year except that it wasn't with Microsoft, it was with Sony. Nice effort in changing the site though. Don't repeat the same joke.

And who the heck are you?

Come on, don't be so offended if people didn't appreciate the joke. I get that it's annoying if they're shouting all over the place that it's a hoax, but some people just don't like April Fools. I don't either -- but I just shrug and keep my mouth shut.

I actually came here yesterday, like veryweirdguy, to see what the joke was this year. It took me about 1 second to find it, seeing a hot topic with ANNOUNCEMENT in the title. :)

Hmm, I disagree. If people don't like the joke they should be the ones to keep their mouths shut, especially when they're basically approaching their comments at the creator of the joke, who also happens to be the creator of the forum they're in & the engine they're using. :-\ This is CJ's community and it's him who sets the jokes up every year. Whining as if its occuring on some faceless internet forum or that it actually annoyed you is just silly, everyone here should appreciate what CJ does and allow him to pull whatever harmless pranks he wants. And giving "crit" is stupid. It's not our call, and besides, a joke is a joke :)

Stupot

Shouting 'It's a Hoax!' is just bad etiquette.  It's like the smart-arse kid who spoils the show when the magician is trying to entertain 20 kids at a birthday party by shouting out that the coin is double-sided or that theres a hole in the table.
Just keep it to yourself and consider yourself 'in on it'... it's a much better feeling in the long run.

Yeah, its like those conspiracy theorists who spoil the illusion of a free democracy by letting the cat out of the bag that Tony Blair killed Diana or that LBJ killed JFK, etc.

I thought it was Elton John who had Di offed. Something about needing another hit so he could get a solid gold toilet.

Also, everyone knows JFK faked his own death and now lives in a retirement home with Elvis Presley fighting the undead or something. Sheesh, what sort of American history are they teaching you guys on that side of the pond?

I didn't mean to make Amber fall for the joke, too, I just meant to point it out so she could have a laugh! Ooops...

Perhaps the mods should add [April Fool] to the topic of that thread?
