Browsing one of my favorite sites - Ask a Ninja - I came across this Halo 3 review. I only realised that our very own Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw appears to have started reviewing games. Although being slightly, well, immature in places - this is Yahtzee we're talking about - It's nice to see that his influence appears to be streching beyond Adventure Gaming.

Be warned. It is very immature and graphic in a couple of instances, although it is humourous and backs up my personal feeling towards Halo 3. (It being mediocre and basically Unreal Tournament 3 without the humour or cool guns, and tries to copy Gears of War too much.)

I've really enjoyed these game review things he's been doing. You should see his review for Psyconauts ( http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/zeropunctuation/1368-Zero-Punctuation-Psychonauts )
They are intense little videos but I find them really funny :D
Gonna check out the Halo 3 one now!!!1
Hahaha awesome!! Thanks for sharing Huw :)
haha! I always thought Yahtzee was a genius! :D
Why does he talk so fast? Or why did they hi-speed the audio?
Hehehe not speeded up, it's the way he presents it. As I said, they are intense little videos. You gotta be ready for them!
The answer is very simple. He talks that fast because he talks that fast. Is it really worth wondering why?
I thought it was awesome, and I agree with him. I've recently started playing Halo (the first one) and by GOD is it monotonous..
Excellent, thanks for pointing me in the general direction of those!
Yahtzee has been reviewing games for a little while, now.
Go to his website/blog/showcase at http://www.fullyramblomatic.com (http://www.fullyramblomatic.com).
Yup, he did a review on Peggle, too, dishing out some pretty strong facts about the company behind it. I'm constantly in two minds about that guy. He has skill, has humour, and is a good game author. But a bit too self-confident for my taste...
Not that I'd wish to start yet another Y-discussion. The Halo3 bit was indeed well done.
I don't care about his personality. I care about his creative output. And that's still pleasing me.
Yeh, the guy has made me laugh, he's had me in tears, he's scared the fuck out of me much more than Ricky Gervais, Stephen Speilburg and George A Romero put together.
Yahtzee is a twat. A funny twat.
Is he single??
Kidding...but that Psychonauts review was absolutely priceless. And of course the adventure game bias was quite refreshing.
IVY AND YAHTZEE SITTING IN A TREE

For the record, KANDYMAN, is Yahtzee still going out with your cousin? LOL

You have
no idea what's in store for you: try Halo 2 - that's a real snoozefest. I've never seen so much copy/paste mediocrity in level design in my life. Haven't played Halo 3, so wouldn't know...

Yahtzee's reviews are indeed awesome. It really pays off to watch them twice or three times because of all the extra little things that happen in the animation. It's really, really clever.
I'm not even going to bother with Halo 2. To be honest, I'm about ready to cut my losses with Halo and play Psychonauts instead ;)
I've only played the demo of Halo 1 and I don't feel like playing anymore Halo lol

Ah, someone could to a Femtobots with the bots actually too small to see on-screen :P
Just as an aside, my path here was Yahtzee's videos --> Yahtzee's games --> AGS in general --> making my own game.
So even those who dislike Yahtzee (I've read up a bit on why), you can probably be comforted in the fact that some of the new attention he's been getting with these reviews may eventually lead people to AGS in general.

Why is that a good thing? There are too many people here as it is!
Face it Pablo, as long as people keep making babies there will always be a stream of new AGSers. You can't fight it. Learn to accept it and go with the flow. If you ever find yourself questioning whether or not there are too many people here, just think to yourself "well at least I contribute to these forums :)"
