Title: A platform for webcomic?
Post by: InCreator on Wed 30/09/2009 20:45:44
I have too much funny ideas daily so I decided to give a try to a webcomic.

But!

I have near-zero knowledge of webmaking, or atleast dynamic enough to simply upload strips and make them almost automatically appear on page.

Any free and simple engines/sources/something for this? Or otherwise tips to easily set up solid page? Maybe I should pre-make some basic templates or something?

What I don't want to do is use some automatic mass comic site, because I have my own domain and server.

Hey there, I started using Comic Gallery http://www.designmeme.com/comicgallery/ for my comic Tomb http://kafkaskoffee.com/TombComic/index.php this is after editing the code a little

All you have to do is upload an image and it'll appear automagically at the end of the list, you can even set it up so that every time you go to the page it defaults to the newest image you've uploaded.

It does not allow for a comments section but I didn't want that really.

If you find anything please let me know

Eric

That's really nice, Eric, you have really developed as a pencil artist. I hope you produce more of that...

Thanks Eric, that script, with tiny changes here and there worked perfectly. Exactly what I was looking for!

Solstice (fka Gravity) and I have been planning a website that lets people add their own webcomics without any knowledge of web design needed. I'm guessing this idea needs to go on the fast track to being created.

Nice art, Eric!  I especially like the cross-hatch filter effect.  It makes everything look a bit old and dingy.

Well, I could just as easily create a script for people to make their own comic sites. But it seems you've got everything in order already. :)
