Title: Adding voice to old sierra VGA and copy right permission ?
Post by: snoopy on Fri 18/02/2011 16:31:11
I would like it if someone could make voice packs to old sierra VGA games. So i am Just wondering about the copy right permission is it ok to only make voice packs to old sierra VGA games?

In my opinion i think it should be ok because the voice packs would only work if you already have the VGA games.

To bad i don't know how to make a voice pack.

I was part of a fun little group that was creating voice-overs for Secret of Monkey Island 1 & 2 and we've gone quite far with that and there are some cool demos. It was called The Monkey Island Speech Project (http://speechproject.mixnmojo.com/).

Then after a year LucasArts announced a Special Edition and the project fell apart in consequnece.

The moral of this is - don't trust big companies and leave their stuff alone! They will only steal your ideas or exploit your work.

Since Sierra VGA games weren't made with AGS (and nobody here has the original source code), I don't see how anybody could make a voice pack for any of the Sierra-released games. Perhaps just wait for them to be re-made? :P
