That thread (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=45056.0) inspired me to start this one... Have you ever dreamt of adventure games or had dreams that would make good adventure games? As for me, I once had a dream about Toonstruck with Pinky and Brain in it, and some time after that I dreamt about Fluffy Fluffy Bun Bun being one of the ghosts in a Scooby-Doo episode. ;D
I once had a dream about Trilby's notes, i was Trilby and well i shouldn't tell what else happened. But just to foreshadow, it involves a femCabadath without the mask... People's reactions: :O
Tons of Maniac Mansion nightmares / weirdreams for all the pre-internet years (even after). New rooms, new keys, a nuclear launch pad, other family members (an auntie living in a closet), the room over the broken staircase, another room behind the Pepsi machine in the lab.
Same with a gamebook serie call Mystery Squad. Dreaming of beeing in the book/ dreaming of finding a new book/ both in the same time. Until I realise that there was actually 2 other books in the serie !!! 1 of them still impossible to acquire unless I plan a heist in the Toronto public library vault.
I've had quite a few dreams that have involved solving adventure-style puzzles to get past obstacles. Such as the one where there was a pile of wood blocking my path and I had to find a way to set it on fire to get past. I hindsight I could have just moved the wood, or even climbed over it, but isn't that how adventure games work anyway? ;)
I used to have dreams about Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis. The thing is, I did not knew english very well at that time so I was seriously stuck here and there. And I was obsessed about that game. It was the first adventure game I played back in the day.
The maze of Atlantis and the caverns of Crete were the most recurrent.
;D
