Is it possible to hypnotise yourself?

I do this regularly when I have trouble sleeping or when I won't have long to sleep (because it makes for a deep sleep).

Basically you walk yourself through the steps of hypnosis, relaxing everything and then relaxing it again until you feel like you're sinking into an infinite abyss. Then it's like a dreamworld.. you can walk your mind through all kinds of outrageous scenarios (dreams) and some people claim out of body experiences. I rarely remember my dreams but I very very rarely remember my dreams after hypnotizing myself.

Today I hypnotized myself when playing "Captain Muchly Drinks Bleach".  I closed all the programs on my computer, got up, stretched out, and suddenly I lost control of my body and my eyes shut.  Only one thought stuck in my mind, get to you're bed and lay down, which is what I thought just before getting up.  I walked without controlling myself, and collapsed on the floor.  It was really weird...

My theory is that by hypnotising her, he opened up the primal, animal killer instincts in his girlfriend, and died an ironic death.....

Oh yeah, I totally think thats what happened...
