Title: Aged graphics
Post by: ManicMatt on Fri 16/12/2005 22:07:20
Yesterday my brother visited me, and when I showed him my games collection, he told me he too has Simon the sorceror 2, but it won't work properly.

Apparently it's all glitched - messed up colours, big pixels, just all round bodged up. He'd tried emulators, changing the resolution, all sorts. (The game cost him 99p)

So I loaded my copy up on my PC and he said "It doesn't work for you either?"

I informed him that this IS what the game is supposed to look like.

I guess he's never experienced the whole aging graphics issue before!

it's also sad because Simon has amazing pixel art graphics.

I'm guessing the last time he saw a pixel art game was when he played monkey island 2 when it first came out!

That was the only portion that confused me.  The game has excellent pixelling, enough to make to drool a bit while looking at "Coming Soon!" screenshots.  Now, if it were an old SCI game, I could understand some bewilderment.
