Hi guys, first of all this is my first post here and if it's in the wrong section please move it to the right one.
Now the question is, I'm a total beginner at AGS and i want your opinions and recommendations on various graphics/sound software.
Basically, which ones should i use as a beginner ?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Free software please :)

For sound editing - SoundForge. For graphics - Photoshop.
Oh, sorry i forgot to mention it in the original post. I'd like to use free software, not the ones i have to pirate.
But thanks for sharing your opinion.
I recommend checking out this thread and some of the programs mentioned there:

Edit: It doesn't matter whether you're new to AGS or not. When it comes to graphic software, it depends on what style or techniques you have... if you're totally new to drawing itself, well then you should just check out some programs and tutorials and draw!

You can use GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) instead Photoshop. It's free.
Also check "resources" in this thread:

Thank you for the answers so far.
I think I can find my way on the given links, yes, but it doesn't include a sound software.
So any recommendations for that one ? ::)
Sound in general, or making music?
Either way, Audacity, or Anvil, or Jazz++

For making music, yes.
Depends on what you're making really.
Audacity is pretty great if you're recording, no MIDI capabilities (as far as I'm aware) though.
You can produce quality NES-esque tunes with FamiTracker (http://famitracker.shoodot.net/). It might look complicated, but once you sink your teeth in it and record a couple of silly melodies you'll find that it's actually not that tough of a nut to crack.
In case you're looking for some more... realistic... check out Acoustica Mixcraft (http://www.acoustica.com/mixcraft/). People call it 'GarageBand for Windows'. I don't know if that's an appropriate comparison, I've never used GarageBand, but it is very intuitive and offers an impressive amount of virtual instruments and effects. Mixcraft unfortunately isn't free, but it's not useless either. In its trial form you should be able to render your creations as .mp3s, though saving the project itself isn't possible.
That's all I can think of right now. There's more out there, I'm sure of it, you just have to know what to look for. Search keywords such as "tracker" and "sequencer" should help you out.
wave editing: Goldwave, music: FL studio
