So I'm happily working on my game. I go to save it in the AGS window. It saves and then...

QuoteWarning: acwin.exe not found. Unable to build user exe file.

Before I can even digest that AVG pops up a message:

QuoteThreat detected!

File name: C:\ags\acwin.exe

Threat name: Trojan horse BackDoor.Hupigon5.IZM
Detected on open.

And then I can't do anything to generate a compiled version.

I know, it's AGS giving false positives, but man... does this suck.

edit: RetroJay just started another thread in Technical about this, so ignore this thread. :/

It's because of the spyware CJ injected into the file in order to make the 'Make my game' function work, otherwise he would not be able to track down on your preference and interests (and watch your porn) to custom make a game for you.

Customize each room with specific pr0n via special ags spyware.. lol

*imagines lots of half-naked 300-type Trojan warriors running around the rooms in my game carrying out specific pr0n*

Weeeelllllll... I could live with that.  ;D

This! Is!! AiGeeEss!!!

No, seriously, I'm not getting that error. Is your antivir scanner better'n mine or just more finnniky?

Buckethead

This is probably caused by AGS doing something AVG doesn't like. I think you should be adable to get AVG to trust AGS. It could also be that you are having a virus and AGS files got infected.

auriond

Yeah, I've emailed AVG about it. Should be solved soon. I don't think it's a real virus because many AGS, and only AGS-related files are being identified positive. Meanwhile I've turned off scanning for AVG.

Doesn't have quite the same ring to it. :P No, this seems to be a problem that affects the particularly quirky combination of 2.72 and AVG.

You're very welcome! :)

Every antivirus utility I've ever used has a 'mark as safe' or 'add to ignore list' option when detecting a virus (provided you don't have it set to automatic).  Look into it.

auriond

Yeah, we did that, but AVG's already released an update so everything's fine.
