I think this happened once before, but I don't remember what the resolution was.

When I go to http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forum/, it doesn't remember my login. Every time I have to login again. If I go to http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/ it's fine.

Evil

I've had that problem a lot. I have /yabb set as my homepage and most of the time it keeps me logged in, but occasionally I'll open the internet and I wont be signed in. But as soon as I navigate to a different part of the forum, I log back in. Rather strange.

For me, only at work, /yabb gives me "session expired" messages when I try to edit my posts. When I refresh page, session seems to be fine. Same browser (FF2), but no such problem at home.

Mystery!

As far as I know the .co.uk has never worked for logging in to the forums. Because of the way cookies work they'll only apply to the domain that sets them, so going from .co.uk to .com/yabb won't ever work. And since .com is the domain the forums software is expecting you to be on, .co.uk probably can't even issue its own cookies.

As far as I can see, www.adventuregamestudio.uk/forum/ doesn't set a cookie. When you log in from there, it redirects to www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/, which is where the cookie is created.

If you then click on www.adventuregamestudio.uk/forum/ for a second time, it doesn't have it's own cookie, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't pay attention to the www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/ cookie that has been set, and therefore doesn't know you've already logged in.

I think. I could be talking shite.

EDIT: Curse you, AGA. But hooray for me being more or less right!

I've recently changed the adventuregamestudio.co.uk domain name to actually point to the AGS server rather than redirecting to adventuregamestudio.co.uk, which means that direct links like http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php will now work. I haven't decided yet whether to make it the "formal" domain name such that the forum cookie registers as "adventuregamestudio.co.uk" instead of "adventuregamestudio.co.uk", but for now if you go to the forum via the http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/forum/ link, just click any link on the page and it'll redirect you back to adventuregamestudio.co.uk where you should be logged in.

Well, it worked for me until a couple of days ago. Guess it has to do with those changes CJ did?

Personally I think adventuregamestudio.co.uk is a much better URL than adventuregamestudio.co.uk, but it doesn't really matter to me either way.
