Title: Annoying AGS issues.
Post by: steptoe on Sat 10/12/2011 12:07:12
Hi

Have you come across any annoying AGS issues such as an object not changing after changing its sprite number and compiling and when you look back in the room the object has not changed and shows original sprite or adding a new object does not show on screen etc etc etc?

If you have had any annoying issues then please share so we all know what issues can at times happen.

cheers

No. The only annoying issues with AGS are all results of user error.

Thats not really true.

AGS does have some annoyances.

For instance, AGS will occasionally fail to save room changes if you save and close your game while a scripting error exists in the room script.

There has been a trend of increasing elitism on the AGS forum since the whole iceygames incident. Jus' sayin'

Calin, I don't know what you're talking about. That is a feature. ;D

Based on the threads (and responses) that steptoe has been creating, it seems less like he was just asking for things to watch out for, and more as if he was asking for excuses to blame his own errors on assumed faults with the software.

99.99% of the shortcomings of the program can be worked around if you have the slightest clue of what you're doing.

I do tend to get a bit more short with people who ignore questions (clarifying and/or responses to) and do nothing to try and help themselves.
