Hi, I am in preproduction of a game which takes place in Jamaica. I was wondering if someone from Jamaica, or someone who visits it frequently could help with this game, like giving me pictures of Jamaica (which I could use as inspiration for backgrounds), or they could voice act for this game (unless someone from outside Jamaica can put on a good Jamaican accent). If possible, they could help with the storyline. Could anyone interested please PM me? Thanks.

There is a thread specifically for this kind of thing in the Adventure Related Talk & Chat board:

Recruit A Team - need help with your game?

You should post in there instead.

Even though people visit that thread only once in a year when linked.

I once took my wife to the Carribean for a holiday...

Jamaica?

No, she went of her own accord!

But I did do a terrible Jamaican accent in Pixel Hunt...

You'd think I'd post there when no one is gonna see it? No way!

There's these fantastic searching devices you can get on the internet. One of them is called Google! It's great! I use it all the time! Here is the URL for you:

It will change your life!

Blah, google's capitalistic crap. Even though it works better and I too use it I suggest you start protesting against it and avoid using it.

So instead you break the rules and post in the wrong spot.

Good call.

I don't see why anybody should have to use that thread anyway.  We should just have hundreds of "I'm making a game ... I need your help" threads cluttering up every board in here so that nobody can find the threads they might actually want to read.

People do read that thread and your constant negligence to post in the wrong forums is starting to get annoying. People DO read the ACR thread, and anyone that says they don't - to me - is simply saying "I have no reason to help other people so I won't read it" and "Why should other people bother?". Just because you can't be arsed to help someone out doesn't mean others won't. People lurk, you know that. I read that thread myself because occasionally I DO want to help people, and I'm sure there are others who would be quite happy to help you, too. So please - ask for help in that correct thread. No-one else has problems using it, why should we make an exception for you?

Also, Google is a great option - it should be the FIRST resource for most people these days. There are bound to be hundreds of Jamaican forums out there to discuss with. Wanting pictures of Jamaica and NOT consulting Google is plain dumb. Google images is an amazing search tool.

Okay, so those things you knew about. The one thing you probably didn't know about is the Voice Acting Alliance at http://www.voiceacting.co.uk/

There, people seem to be happy to voice act for just about anything, radio shows, computer games, films, answerphone messages. BUT BE WARNED!!! You actually HAVE to read the forum rules and your posts WILL be deleted if they don't match the way those that run the forum want you to post with CLEAR descriptions and requirements for your project. Otherwise, oh look - we've already got a thread for it - read the "Offer your Services" (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/yabb/index.php?topic=13335.0) thread to find out who's willing to voice act. n00b! ;)
