Any Rage fans out there?

Do you guys have any infos on Rage Against The Machine? I know they came together once more to tour around and give some concerts last year. They played in Berlin - and since I'm a huge fan I would've gone there if I could've afforted the 50 Euro (while a friend just went to the concert location for luck and was given a ticket for only 22 Euro  ::)).

I also know that Zack has a new band called One Day As a Lion which has released a few songs yet. But I really would like to see RATM back on stage (well, I've never seen them live) or even release a new album, though I doubt it will ever happen.

I don't think there's much going on with them but I'm just curious if anyone has any infos.

I actually bought a hat because I liked the name of the band...then I listened and thought "m3h."

Personally I don't like them, but to each their own.

P.S., You rage, you lose!

Mh, did you listen to most of their stuff over some time or just once a few songs? When I listened to their single "Guerrilla radio" back in .. 1999 I think.. I didn't like them too. But later I became more interested and after listening to two of their four albums I suddenly was a huge fan. And I'm still one though I've listened to them a bit too much..

Hehe, the pics are quite funny (did you post them in reference to my drunken post, ahem?).

It's a shame they stopped after 2000, we could have really used them during the Bush years!

Never say never, but they don't seem to have any tour plans for the near future. They did a lot of the festivals the last couple of years, I think they'll all focus on other things (such as One Day As A Lion or Street Sweeper.)

It's a shame, I would have liked to see them live.

My older brother was a fan of Rage Against the Machine back in the day.  I just thought the name was awesome.

In all fairness I didn't listen to a large sample of Rage's musics. So it's very likely that I may not have gotten an accurate idea of what their music sounds like.

However, I still do think the name is awesome.

Yeah, I can imagine that. Well, at least they made a cool video for "Testify" about the election in 99  with Bush and Gore being a doubled alien from outer space. And they already predicted an oil war coming. It's definitely one my favorite music videos ever.

That's quite funny actually. I like the name too, but as a German I always thought: "Mh, must sound rather odd for English people, if not a bit silly." Glad to hear you like the name too.

@monkey: I think I remember you being more of a Hardcore/Metalfan or something in that direction. If so, the first two albums are the ones most suitable for you. The selftitled and "Evil Empire" that is.

Have you heard of Tom Morello's new group? I guess it's the same rap/rock fusion, just like Rage.

Also, for the record, Take The Power Back is my favorite song by Rage.

saw them in '96 at the Big Day Out festival in Sydney was a big fan then, Killing in the name was and prob still is my favourite song of theirs. They really didn't progress much I thought, still the same sort of stuff. Never bought any of their albums, but have heard most. Good to just hear an odd song on the radio once in a while. They toured here in '08 but didn't see them

Haven't heard of it yet but I'm curious.

Ha, yeah, as far as I remember, Killing in the name was the song that caught my interest in Rage back then..

I listened to Morello's group "Street Sweeper Social Club" a few days ago. I think they're okay, but too monotone and not that interesting imo. I did at least expect more of Morello's guitar parts.
