This is a pretty simple but addictive roughelike. Better don't start it!
I'm quite enjoying it and still only reached sector 7 (of 8).
There goes my motivation for gamemaking... :P
Looks really interesting.
I think I will give it a go.
Thanks for the info.
It has already sucked a lot of productivity out of me. For $8, totally worth it.
Yes, now I'm addicted to it. See what you did? I have to work tomorrow!!
Oh Lord, I've got to stop playing it!
I keep thinking they should have of Mass made the spaceship parts of Mass Effect like this, rather than all the mineral probing.
Haven't been able to stop since the releas... OH HELL, not another mantis cruiser! BATTLE STATIONS, FIRE THE BREACH MISSILES!
It's really awesome, and I haven't even gotten around to buying it yet, I'm just watching other people play it on Youtube! :)
really? After just watching someone play it I thought it is boring to just watch and bought it ;)
Finally faced the rebel flagship in the last level but lost. Soon you'll go down!
It's overrated. I have no idea where the hype train came in on this.

Probably from the Kickstarter hype. They asked for something to the tune of 10 000$ to make their game, and kickstarter raised 200 000$ simply due to the fact that this is the sort of game a lot of people wanted, but nobody had made before.
And no, I don't agree with you on it being overrated, as the gameplay is solid, the replayability (for a 10â,¬ game) is immense and all in all it's a very well made game.
To each his own. I do endorse this title...I'm enjoying this way more than, say, Skyrim. Got to das Rebel Flagship in Normal mode and brought it to its knees with my near-invincible Engi mega ship. Sadly, a missile slipped through my defense drones and things started unravelling themselves thereafter. The crew will be honored and then promptly forgotten.
I'll try and record a short Let's Play video over the weekend and will post it here. Dramatized and wildly overacted, of course. :)
Funny thing though, there was a game on Greenlight that was actually a lot like FTL, but even more elaborate. You could make corridors (so you can have people guided and evacuate when there's a fire in one of the rooms), hire crew, block of parts of the ship when you're being boarded and sending soldiers.
Guess FTL beat them to the punch.

I do these things already - much of my ship's time is spent with rooms full of vacuum, and upgraded blast doors. Intruders arrive, and obligingly suffocate before they can cause many problems.
Me! Me! I am playing it!
Second attempt; Already run out of fuel once, no store in sight. Think exploding will be nigh soon.
meh, either I'm bad at these kind of games or they are randomly against me. I just found out you have to face the rebel flag ship more than once while going back to a former repair spot just to fin it there again more or less fully powered while my ship was close to destroyed. Sooooo!!!

Not everyone is a Jean-Luc Picard.
Friend of mine is currently playing, streaming and commentating. Take a look, he could use a second viewer haha: http://www.twitch.tv/guitarspider
Tried about 10-11 times. It feels impossible to win the final battle (second encounter), the game's just too random.
Once you reach few last sectors, it's perfectly clear if you should try to complete game or just restart immediately: it's all about what you found (and could afford) in stores. Don't have enough power, quit.
Still, this game is well worth its price. Pity there's time pressure and you cannot roam (truly) freely to build up your forces.

Nice, I'm tried at least 40-50 times already (but it probably were more tries). And still I'm trying. *puts warface on*

I remember seeing this, what was this game called? Did they ever get the funding for it and if so: when is it expected to be released?
anyone got some tactical tips on the second fight with the rebel flagship? These drone hordes are killing me, especially since I'm low on health then already...
