Title: Anyone using lycos tripod?
Post by: Skio on Mon 26/07/2004 22:17:18
I have recently completed my new site at www.lycos.tripod.co.uk
I have failed however to upload any game files through FTP, since the server doesn't accept my password.
I have used both SmartFTP and CoffeeFTP.

Had anyone have the same problem?

Are you sure tripod supports FTP? If so, there should be an FAQ on their site.. If not, it's most likely your username that is not being accepted, or you're not entering the correct Hostname

Yeah, I use lycos tripod, and I can't use ftp, it says it supports it and gives you a password for it, but It doesn't work in every country.

I did a google one day and found out it didn't work in Australia, I'm not sure about Greece though. but I'd say it's probably the same reason. It only works from certain IP addresses.

Appart from that, the ads, and the inability to hotlink most file types, it's friggin sweet

I found the solution. I used a web-based FTP program (http://www2ftp.de) and managed to upload my game there. Greece is also one of the countries that are not supported.

Try it!

You could use freewebs, but I've never seen anything that slow! Check this link out first ;)
