Title: Anyone want a custom program (or possibly plugin)? (DONE)
Post by: Dataflashsabot on Sat 20/03/2010 17:06:40
I'm reasonably sure I'm allowed to post this here. Please delete with great rapidity if not.

I'd like a Something Awful Forums account. (Don't ask why.)
Unfortunately, it requires a credit card, which I don't have.
So! How's about:
I will make any Windows program (or possibly an AGS plugin) in exchange for an SA account gift cert (https://secure.somethingawful.com/forumsystem/index.php?item=gift_cert) ($9.95).

If you have a proposal, post it here, PM me, or email me and I'll take a look. :)

Please do not post any of this:

* "Why do you want an account there?!"
* "I wouldn't recommend getting an account there, because _______"
* "You don't want an account there."
* "Why can't you use a prepaid card?"
* "Why can't you borrow someone else's card?"
* "Okay! I'd like a 3DS Max clone." (Unless I get to define 'clone'.  := )

I will buy you a SA account if you can make me a plugin that will integrate Google Calendar with Mozilla Thunderbird.

OR

I will buy you an SA account if you can make me a simple text-writing program like Write Room for the Mac.

YOU DECIDE

I can do that! :D
I don't have a mac or iPhone, so I don't know the precise behavior of it, but I'm assuming a simple completely full-screen text editor, with a drop-down menu at the top when you move your mouse to it with bold/italic/underline/font/save/exit/etc.
It will require the .NET Framework, is that okay? :)

As I would hope would be apparent from this page (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/acdload.htm) AGS users despise all things associated with the .NET Framework.

Spoiler
::)

Spoiler
It's a smiley..

Finished most basic stuff. :)
Have implemented a menu bar when you move the mouse to the top and a search/replace bar when you move it to the bottom. It's called Write Den.

Edit: http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/9527/rhfjdjejdle.png

Menu bar disappears when you move the mouse back down, obviously.

I was just wondering If you have a checking account? Most banks will give you a Debit Card that you can use as a Credit Card.

Also, I just got done watching Jackass 2...think I am going to go and puke now.

Good Luck though.

Either I'm very tired, and my Mountain-Dew-and-Vodka-cocktail was too much for me to comprehend the sarcasm in here, or .NET is apparently the devil. Hmm.

Actually, Mono (Novell's implementation of .NET) is quite good. C# in and of itself has a nicely balanced syntax, IMO.

Regarding the sarcasm you mention..

Spoiler
As of AGS 3.0 users must now have the .NET 2.0 Framework (or higher) installed in order to run the AGS Editor. Now the 3.0 Editor has vast superiorities over the earlier editor, which most users recognize as being beneficial. There are some who prefer to stick to 2.72 for various reasons, but the majority of AGS users are now using some version of AGS post-2.72 which would require them to have .NET 2.0 installed. Hence, sarcasm.

Why do you want this so bad? (Just curious.)

Can't be arsed explaining, so:

Basic functionality nearly complete. Needs a good few finishing touches and polish. Won't be too long :)

Seeing as you're doing a .NET application, can it be built using the mono llvm backend on FreeBSD?  :=

I really am a heartless bastard.

:o so many layers of abstraction...
Anyway, mostly done except for adding configuration and some shortcut keys and stuff.
Shit, this might even be finished tonight.
(This is why I love C#...)

I should've just had you do my C++ homework.
