Title: Artsy Photoshop question....
Post by: Squinky on Wed 11/01/2006 04:32:22
Not sure where to put this, but I have been trying to figure this problem out for a few days....

I want to make a big old screen tone of just tight-lines at a 45 degree angle, a few pixles apart.  Does anybody know to do this?

You could just make some lines in Paint and then import in PS as a brush. Or just hold down shift, make the angled line, then copy that layer and shift it down. I dunno, a bunch of options out there and I'm sure there is an easier one.

I have a silly question. What is a screen tone? Are they, like, the tones they use in Archie Bunker type comics?

Or am I a complete moron and have no idea what I am talking about?

Yeah, they use them to create tones only using soild black. It's like dithering with dots. Most magazines use this method.

I'd go with you're a moron who has no idea what you're talking about.
