I'm at work and I'm reallllly bored. There are no customers in the store. I'm looking straight across at a display of video games. They're all war games. I've never seen so many war games in my life. They probably didn't have this much of a World War II theme going on during World War II.

Okay there IS actually one customer. She's been in here an hour. She keeps asking me trivial questions about things, and then repeating herself and her life story. I'm desperately trying to avoid her.

Why are there so many world war II games? It's making time pass slower. And they're all brown. WTF?

Ishmael

I've never liked realistic war games... fictional ones are ok, stuff like Red Alert: Tiberian Sun, where you can blow the bejeesus out of your enemies with an ion cannon... ¬¬
I used to make games but then I took an IRC in the knee.

<Calin> Ishmael looks awesome all the time

I think it's just that war games sell best. And in that genre WW2 is the best seller.

When the customer walks near a male member of staff, pinch her butt and then point at him when she looks round in horror.

At least you have stuff to look at, in my office I just have an empty cubicle staring at me.  Friday afternoons are the worst.  It's 75 degrees out and sunny.

Nacho

Yufster... that's heaven. Offices are Hell.
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

Oh I dunno, I just got a new lamp in my cubicle!

Ye'argh, Atleast you're not a bathroom costodian, buisness is always boom at these offices, and for some reason, husky electricians will slap you on the back while you are cleaning a head and strike up a conversation, "Mind if I play through here scout?", or "Boy! Tons of ice cream in the lounge, and it ain't playin' nice with the rest of my digestive tract." Which is ussually followed by a mussing of my hair and a half-hearted, "Heh".

I envy your position.

That's one of the worst things about being a teenager - the crappy (sorry, originally no pun intended) jobs you end up with.  I did my time at McDonald's (about a month and a half).  When you're at least 18, I heartily recommend a gas station job over a custodial one.  Strangely enough, I had a kick-ass job at 16 - putting together network "CAP" servers.

Currently, quite content, I get free run of the place and even when in my 'cubicle' I'm a step away from outside and have naught to do but net-surf, watch movies, and some work-related research once in awhile.

As an engraver, i get to work with all kinds of cool machines.  We have really old engraving machines that use old TRS-80 computers, that work like a charm and get alot of use everyday.

But i work on a machine called the APEX, which i use a certain software that runs on todays computers.  It is quite fun.

This machine is really neat and can do alot of stuff.  I'm also called the Master Engraver because i totally rock at using this piece of equipment.

Engraving is fun..and pays well too.

At least you have a job...

BerserkerTails

Professional Jazz musician here... Which is a fancy term for "Unemployed", as the pay is so terrible, you'd be better off unemployed. Still, it's something I love. Aaand, I'm still only 17 (Nearly 18), so it's not like I need a great job yet anyway.
I make music.

MillsJROSS

At least you have the internet at your job...the only computer I get to play with is my cash register. That said, though, I am highly satisfied at my current job, until I graduate with some degree, my job isn't too important.

Same here. The pay can be good sometimes, but it's rare. Too many venues take advantage of musicians and pay them way too little. It's quite sad, really. Where are you from, by the way?

Timosity

This is my office

my location changes on a daily basis, but this is a good one
and the weather is pretty much like that too

Sam.

i just got me a job, i work for a farm shop which sells posh cheshire potatoes to posh cheshire people, among other things.

It pays nicely for my needs as well. Im only 16 so £200 a month is not bad for me!
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

m0ds

Spice things up a little then, Yufster! Make a CD & replace all the war games with AGS! ;)

SSH

Do what I did: get made redundant, getting a £20k tax free payoff in the process, and then start a new job on the same salary at a different company the week after you leave.

I DID spice things up.

I threatened to start a union.
