Title: AVI to DVD?
Post by: Buckethead on Mon 07/05/2007 12:38:28
Hey!

I have some AVI files that I would like to put on DVD and play them on my x-box. I've downloaded some free software but when I convert>burn on DVD>and put it my x-box, it won't play properly. All my x-box does is make weird noises. I was wondering if anyone could recommend me some software to do this. I really want it all on DVD. The fact that it doesn't work could also be caused by the re-writeable DVD's I use. Maybe there's a way around that? I would rather not get my x-box illigally fixed for that though.

Any help is appreatiated!

thanks in advance  :)

I doubt the xbox plays re-writable dvds due to piracy issues. It doesn't play dvdr's either iirc.

DVD-RW support is pretty flaky, if you use decent quality DVD-Rs then it should be ok.

Ok well, but now I want to make sure the process of putting DVD goes perfectly ok. What software should I use?

I find Adobe Encore works smoothly, and I've had problems with NeroVision. Software isn't the only issue. I'd get some more formats of DVD and experiment: DVD+Rs, DVD-Rs and also some DVD+RWs. Certain players prefer certain formats, though I know nothing about XBoxes.
