He was the best f1 racer of all times... then Schumacher killed him. How sad :(

He was a hero of one generation of people who followed the F-1... He made incredibly things on a car, specially when the asphalt was wet, he was supperb.

He won 3 f-1 world championships, even when other drivers had the same or better car (His fights with Alain Prost were the most thrilling events ever happened in F-1)

Even now, when Schumacher has 6, but he won't never be the considered the best, because when people sees him, they think, "lucky you, Senna is not here"

But he was also a fighter for the rights of the poor people over the world, specially in his country, Brasil... He said "We, the richs, can't go on living on an Island of Richness whereas the rest of the people lives in an ocean of poverty..."

And he not only told things, but also acted... The Ayrton Senna institute is nowadays the best shelter and sometimes the only hope for the poor youth in Brasil. Most of his merchandise was aimed to the foundation.

He died 10 years ago... And I can't remember a fueneral with more sad crowd in history.... I think that something like 5 milion people was there.

And with his dead 10 years ago it was the last time I cryed in public...

Rest in peace, champion.

I remember bursting into tears when I first heard about it... Such irony, the man who was perhaps the best F1 driver ever dying in a race... F1 hasn't been the same ever since he died, and I lost almost all interest about it.

That being said, to say that Schumacher killed him is a bit much, I think.

I miss that driver too. I was only 6 when it happened, but I was still sad.
BTW. Nobody started a thread about the 3000 North-Koreans that died in the train accident

I think it was less than 150 actually... though apparently a few thousand were injured.

They were the best days of F1.....

Now days its lost its appeal for me.

I use to watch every time it was on and follow the season...it was more exciting......(not just down to pitstops.)

Now i might see 1 or 2 races a season....if i can be bothered.

i agree senna was one of the best....and most exciting F1 drivers that ever lived.

isn't it weird how some people attract so much attention for the wrong reasons?

No question about it - he was a good fellow, and he fought for some very good causes, and he deserves HEAPS of credit for that, but whenever you hear his name, you think "race driver".

And, really, driving a car is one of the least memorable things a man can do...

I think that there were no post here if he had been JUST a driver...
