Title: Bad Names
Post by: JBiker51 on Fri 06/08/2004 21:51:51
So I was searching for a game to play, and one of the titles is I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. What the hell does that mean? Is it a riddle? Do our souls have no mouths? Or do our bodies have no mouths altogether? I need a headache pill.

It's a game based on a short story byÃ,  Harlan Ellison. (didn't know that until now)
I can vaguely remember playing a demo, but that was years ago.

I think it has something to do with a horror game. Not sure, though. Wasn't very interesting. The name sounds like one of those fake names you find in magazines such as Game Informer's D-and-D section.

The story is very horrific, pessimistic, and dark, and the name complements the game. To put it bluntly, the main objective is to get killed. It's about four (I think four? maybe a different number) people who have been tortured for hundreds of years by a supercomputer after it killed off the rest of the human species. The computer gives each character tasks to complete - facing their worst fears kind of stuff - and once they finish it ends their suffering. I don't think I ever actually completed it, and it was a long time ago, so some of these details may not be exact.
