War craft on the Big screen ???
Uh, why? Warcraft brings nothing new or original to the table that would set it apart or above LOTR for example. I predict this will be at the dollar theater two weeks after release.
Well, WC has some moral ambiguity that LOTR lacks (at least post-WCIII), but other than that...
I guess the film producers simply like to take the most derivative game plots to make films of, like Resident Evil, Tomb Raider and now this.
Not that it matters that they were derivative plots as games, since they were fun to play as games, but in a film?
Uwe Boll exclusively buys the rights to video games because the rights are cheap, and the game comes with an already established fanbase.
If you haven't seen Blood Rayne, do it. Craptacular.
Trailer for Uwe Boll's next masterpiece:

You mean like how Blizzard hates fags (http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/world-of-warcraft/blizzard-frowns-on-gayfriendly-guilds-151330.php)?

you forgot silent hill.
and Doom!
Blizzard? They won't do that, like they never did Warcraft Adventures (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/adventure/warcraftadventureslotc/screenindex.html).
I hope it will so good as Alone in the Dark, the movie.
I thought this had something to do with a water closet...
Around here 'WC' means a toilet...
Uwe Boll has a lot more brewing. Don't forget the movie versions of Postal (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486640/) in 2007 (naturally with Gary Coleman) and Far Cry (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0400426/) in 2008. Uwe continues his rape.
At least he's not touching "Monkey Island" ot "Day of the Tentacle". If he ever does I am going to kill him.
As for WC... I don't care anymore. People should know when to stop. Warcraft 2 was enough. ::)
World of warcraft has 6 million players... many of which would see the movie 2 or 3 times. It's a brilliant idea, all they have to do is run with it.
All this insulting of WC3 and TFT (The Frozen Throne...) makes me sad...
Videogames to Movies (or vice-versa) conversions actually have a lot of potential, but the film makers don't fully use it. They know that most fans of the videogame will watch their movie anyway.
This is even worse in movie-to-game conversions.
Warcraft actually has a brilliant story. I dont want to sound like the warcraft geek who knows all about it, but looking through the different games there is alot of potential.
Yes I agree there is a lot of backstory for these games, enough that they made books about them (I have never read them so I can't say how good they are) But they will probably screw it up. Though I will admit that "Wing Commander" (the movie) was fun, but not much else.

TFT ??? THE FAMILY TREASURE (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php?action=detail&id=675)
:)
Anyway Warcraft IMO has alot of potential and well like you said should of stopeed at 2 ??? I enjoyed the mini games and the diablo style mods for the engine alot. But WOW looks kewl I am however not a member. Also a movie has awesome potential sequal after sequal after... you get the drift. Anyway what I am saying is that Dracula was a hit and the new Bram Stokers Draculas Curse 2006 (http://horrorchannel.com/?name=Reviews&req=showcontent&id=899) I have seen better ametuer films with better sfx and acting.
Spoiler
Funniest part in movie well probably saddest part is where the chick (susspose to be the "one") is punching punching bag like a wimped out 4 year old... but she is susspose to kill all the vampires.. yeah well whatever then in the next shot she walks into the room and kills a whole room full of them ??? WTF is wrong with these actors!!!
Nuff said...
PS The superman movie comming out soon is going to drive me nuts... if it sucks which i think it will since well smallville is probably way better :)
o the superman link http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348150/
I would like to see Starcraft better... :-\
speaking of starcraft, did anyone buy the Warcraft battle-net battle chest? and see the preview for starcraft? if so does anyone know what the opera singer was singing? Gritty futuristic battle scenes, andÃ, opera, somehow, very appropriate. Any way I loved how it melded.
Mmmm I think it might get a little starship troopy :-\
Maybe mmm lets think about this... What movies will be better on the big screen or rather which games will be better on the big screen in yeah yeah movie format ;)

The Warcraft books suck badly. Shallow and predictable plot, heroes SO noble and moral to make me vomit and vilans soo boringly evil.
And the Warcraft storyline is just a bunch of clishes repeated again and again... In a good way but clishes still.
One thing I find funny, is in warcraft the story take it self so seriously, but the GAME doesn't. Who doesn't love the silly click too much responces. Its great ;D I used to bug my sister by making the ships one click away from the "puke sound". then clicking with her in earshot. Immature I know but fun.
BUwhahahahaha thats an awesome strategy!
I would rather see a Starcraft movie (if there had to be a movie) too. I liked Warcraft, but the story became kind of generic (I ended up finding the orc one quite tedious). I don't have high expectations for the movie :P
Hmm,
a quote from www.blizzard.com (http://www.blizzard.com):
"May 9, 2006
Live-Action Warcraft Movie Coming to Big Screen
Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures today announced that they will develop a live-action film set in the Warcraft universe. Legendary Pictures has acquired the movie rights for the game universe, and both companies are now focused on translating the Warcraft experience to the big screen. Read more about it in this press release (http://www.blizzard.com/press/060509.shtml)."
I don't know.

Yeah, I know. I was more referring to the fact that the Horde is no longer the "bad guys" after Warcraft III.
Quotethe Horde is no longer the "bad guys" after Warcraft III.
I dunno, trolls are canabals, the undead try to wipe out all carbon based life forms, and I wouldn't exactly call all of the orcs noble... and the bloodelves are proven to be corrupted asses. the only "good" race the horde has is the taurens. It's alot more evil than if you were on the aliance, that's for sure.
