Can anyone tell me where I can find the Blade Runner manual? Not even replacementdocs has it, and it's down anyway. Alternatively, if anyone could tell me how to work the Voight-Kampff (sp?) test, it'd be just as good.
This is uncanny!
Just an hour ago, I bought Blade Runner (second hand). Also no manual.
: (
Me be telepathic, suh. Well, if you do figure out how to work the VK test, do let us know, guv'nor.
it's all in the eyes
Heh. That's a hint, sure, but I wanted more technical stuff. For instance, surfing the net made me see that I have to calibrate the machine - how do I do that? Still, thanks a lot for the hint. What, do the pupils dilate or something?
here's something from the movie that might be helpful...
TYRELL
Capillary dilation of the so-called
blush response? Plus fluctuation
of the pupil, plus involuntary
dilation of the iris?
Hmm, general odd behaviour. Got it. Still unsure how to calibrate the thing, though.
I can't find my Blade Runner manual, but IIRC there are 3 buttons that represent easy, medium, and hard questions. You start off with easy questions and work your way up to hard, and don't do many too hard in a row or you'll annoy the receipient... is that what you wanted? I don't remember if there's anything else you have to do. I'd go reinstall it and see but IIRC it's a gig or so of stuff...
I wish I even knew what "calibrating" means. :P Ah well, I'll go give it another couple of whirls.
In the end, it doesn't matter.
Don't get holed up on your actions having consequences, half the variations are preset when you start the game, and you have nothing to do with it.
Just wing it, if you do something wrong, you'll die
Heh. Nice and pragmatic. Thanks. ;)
Been a while since I played it, but I think there's a fourth button on its own (possibly under the dial? can't remember) which would have McCoy ask some 'calibration' questions. I don't think it really made much difference. Actually, I don't think the VK tests make much difference to the storyline at all. At any rate, save before administering the test. If you ask too many 'hard' questions the person gets pissed off and ends the test, but if you ask too many 'easy' questions, the machine won't be able to get a definite result.
I hope this helps.....

Ah, perfect, perfect! THANK you!
Thats what I said! :P
No, Pelican, you didn't mention the "calibrate" button, which I hadn't even noticed. TOgether with the explanation of what the needles meant... well, you were a help, but that image was a much bigger help. :=
