Canada's Election Day

So, being June 28th, it's election time in Canada! I'm just wondering (Because I'm a nosy little bastard  ) if there's any Canadians besides me out there, and who you voted for.

I'm only 17 (Turned it today actually), so I can't vote for another year, but I was able to convince my parents to vote NDP, as they are the lesser of three evils (Liberal, NDP and conservative) in my opinion.

I wanted to vote NDP, but alas, I am not of right age to cast my vote. However, my mom voted NDP, while my dad voted Conservative ( ).

Well, I guess it really doesn't matter... there'll be a minority government this year, regardless.

I haven't actually headed over to the polling station yet (I've still got two hours!) but I'm definetly voting NDP.

For those of you not in the know, NDP is the New Democratic Party.  They're the lovely people that gave us universal health care, and are working on a plan to lower tuition costs for universities and increase spending on public educatioin.

Liberals are currently in power, and they're led by a man who was fired by the last PM, and is smack dab in the middle of a huge sponsorship scandal.

Conservatives want to ditch the Kyoto Accord, the Gun registry, and privatise health care.

Can anyone tell that I like the NDP?

Man, I wish I was Canadian. Canada has to be one of the best places to love. Heh, but they have more military cover-ups then anybody.

I did advance polling a while ago, watching the results now, as Layton is giving his victory speech.Ã,  Well, "victory" speech, having won his riding (barely) and the NDP having doubled the number of seats they hold.Ã,  A liberal minority propped up by the NDP is really the outcome I was hoping for, Harper sends chills down my spine and the Liberals won't be able to be as corrupt as they have been.Ã,  But I didn't quite trust the NDP to not tank the economy.Ã,  I voted NDP myself, thought about voting Green, and am happy they got the 5% they needed for official party status.Ã,  At least, I think they did.
